can you polish the stock crankcase covers? are they aluminum ? will someone let me know? thanx

Yes you can its magnesium polish up nice

so what is the best way to go about doing it ?

clean it off real good.. Then start sanding with like 320 grit and work your way up to 2000 or so.. Then when you have it all sand to where you want it.. its time to polish.. Just get out your favorite polish and staring polishing.. If you can I would get some kind of air tool with a polishing wheel.. I will make it alot easyer.. Thats about it in a nut shell..:D
