Picked up the 2007 models today, assembled them and they pretty much fired right up.

Problem #!
The brakes on the 50 are not working, no pressure, I bled them and had another friend over and he bled them with no luck.

Problem #2
The rear brake is not working on the 90, same problem as above, pressure will not build up even after bleedinhg. The front brake works just fine.

Need brake help bad.

Now I was supposed to get the rev override but it didn't make it yet. Do these things really sputter this bad with the stock rev limiter.

Another thing the chain is extremely tight, even with it backed all the way out, anybody else have this problem.

I must say the suspension is sweet, and boy do they sound sweet. I will attach photos.

First 3 pictures show the difference between 50 and 90.

Thanks,
Darrell

ON YOUR CDI BOX IS A CLIP TAKE IT OUT THIS WILL HELP UNTILL YOU GET THE UNLIMITED CDI INSTALED. DID YOU TAKE THE RESA VOR COVERS OFF AND REFILL WITH FLUID . THE CHAIN JUST USE A REAL GOOD CHAIN LUBE LIKE BEL RAY IT WILL STREACH OUT.

Nichols,

Yes we did. We even disconnected the line that goes into resevoir, pumped the brake and it wouldn't come out.

Nichols Atvs

WHEN THE LINE IS CONNECTED IS THERE ANY RESISTANCE OR DOES IT GO RIGHT DOWN TO THE BAR .

riding4fun
03-08-2007, 08:42 PM
There is no resistance.

I went back out there and tried the brakes again. Weird, now the front brakes work on the 50 now, not great but they are working.

The rear brakes on both are still going right down to the bar.

THEY ARE AIR BOUND YOU JUST NEED TO KEEP PUMPING AND KEEP THE FLUID FULL MAKE SURE EVERY THING IS SEALED BACK UP OR YOU WILL KEEP GETTING AIR IT DOESNT SOUND LIKE THEY ARE PLUGED. DID YOU TAKE THE CLIP OFF YOUR CDI BOX YET. CDI IS LOCATED JUST ON TOP OF THE CARB BLACK BOX ABOUT 2X4 REMOVE THE CLIP BETWEEN THE SCREWS YOU WILL LIKE HOW THEY SOUND NOW!

Going outside now to check the CDI box

The no rev cdi box will make a HUGE difference!!!

The engines don't really come into their powerband before the stock CDI cuts out.....

Did you push the chainroller tensioner down to release the tension on the chain....It is a roller on the bottom of the frame/chain?

Great side by side pics!!

You will be surprised how much that CDI box changes the performance!!

Thanks everybody,

I took the clip off both and it really woke the 50 up but didn't do much if anything to the 90.

As far as the chain goes I can pull the tensioner so it doesn't touch the chain at all and it is still very tight. I really don't want to break a chain already. HA HA.

Bulldog, I took your advice from the other board and went with DRR. I'm glad you spoke up.

PS
The 90 will be PINK. The plastics are on the way.

Did ya notice that DRR mounted the right front RAZR tire backwards on the 50

It's funny you say that, I want to buy the 250 for my 13 yr old daughter but I just can't get feedback from an actual owner. I want proven results, hahahahah.

Thanks again,

Ok, some good news. I have the brakes on the 50 working. Man this thing runs pretty good with the clip on the CDI removed. It will be amazing when the rev ovveride arrives.

Now to the 90, like I said before, after I removed the clip on the CBI box it didn't change anything.
I still can't get the rear brake to work.

Still waiting on the Rath nerfs, they are backordered, hopefully they said they will have them around the 14th.

The brake lines sound air bound. What I did was take a small peace of fuel line and stick 1 end on the bleader screw the other I attached a seringe. (got it from the dentist ) Then open the bleeder and pull the plunger to create a vacume. Close the bleeder and remove the seringe. Keep doing this till fluid comes out. Then your all done. Just make sure the resevoir has fluid in it.

ON BOTH DID YOU ADJUST THE CARBS TO 3/4 OF A TURN OUT.
AND SOMETIMES THE GAS ON OFF VALVE IS IN THE WRONG SETTING CHECK THAT. ARE YOU GOING TO RACE THE MACHINES OR NOT IF NOT RATHS WILL BE OK BUT WELD ONS ARE MORE RELIABLE IN STRENGTH . EITHER AC OR XFR WELD ON RECOMENDED FOR RACING. LOOK AT SOME OF THE OTHER MACHINES ON THE FORUMS TO SEE WHAT OTHER ARE USING .MOST ARE AC. DRR 90 LTD COMES EITHER AC OR XFR WELD ON. BRAKES JUST KEEP FLUID FULL AND KEEP WORKING OUT THE AIR . OR YOU CAN TRY THE SERINGE TRICK YOU SHOULD PICK UP A PRO DESIGN TETHER FOR THE TWO QUADS THESE WILL GO FAST AND IN CASE SOME ONE GETS THROWN OFF. MAKE SURE TO MIX 3 OZ OF OIL TO YOUR FIRST TWO TANKS OF FUEL AND WATCH YOUR OIL TANK TO MAKE SURE IT IS PUMPING OIL. THEN AFTER FIST TWO TANKS YOU CAN LET OUT THROTLE ADJUST SCREEW TO GO FASTER.

Nichols,

Thanks again, I should change the subject of this thread to PIMP MY MINI. hahaha.

Could you please tell me what size wheel/tires combo is the most popular to run on the rear of the 50 and 90 for MX. These are the 2007 dual A arm models. I want to order the Douglas polished.

Thanks,

Darrell

PS
Someone on this board said the pattern is 4x144 is that correct?

Dear Pimp My Mini .

Switched to my laptop so we I dont have to yell any more. Fronts are 4 x144 on a 10x5 wheel the same as a honda 300 ex. Rears are 4x110 on a 8x 6 wheel if you are not going to race you can use your stock rear tires if you race go with a 16 snow hog on the 50 and a 18 in snow hog on th 90. the douglas is ok for the rear .and front if your not going to race. if you are i think the Itp T-9 .190 wheel is far superior for your front wheels. the front off set is still in debate with the new 44 inch width some people are staying at the same width others are trying to move in a little more to shorten it will be trial and error for a couple of races. No need to chage the front tires unless you dont like Razrs. The DRR DRX 2 LTD90cc comes with Itp on front douglas on rear. If some one tells me how to post pics id show you some .

Nichols,

Get a photobucket account. It's pretty easy. Once you have the pictures saved on your hard drive you can upload them.
After they are uploaded you will see three boxes underneath each picture. Right click on the entry in the IMG CODE, then left click on copy.

Once that is done all you have to do is paste it to your post and ta da.

Now, lets see them pictures.

Currently both the 50 and 90 have 19X6-10 on the front.
Rear on 90 has 18x9.5-8
Rear on 50 has 18x7-7

Nichols,

Yes they both want to race. So whatever you can advise, I will listen.

Hey, more good news, the brake problem is fixed via the SYRINGE method. Now it took several attempts with it, I did make my daughter (since it's her quad) help with the bleeding.

Great pics. I can't wait to get some of my own..

Technically speaking the factory front rims are 6 inches wide and most are running 5 inch wide rims. To go exactly by the rules for races, your not supposed to make quads wider or narrower for the 50 stock/limited class. So by going with 5 inch wide fronts your making quad narrower? Just thought he would be interested? The front rims are 6" wide offset 4" backspacing 2" outside.

Riding4fun,

Where do you plan on racing? If there's a certain track maybe some other folks can fill you in on what's allowed and what isn't. If you plan on running GNC or WPSA most people here can tell you what is allowed and what isn't. If you have no intention of running nat'ls then you can just focus on local rules.

Steven623, you from Zionsville, IN?

Steven623

No, PA. Did you get that 70 engine in yet? They run well! Good luck!

We had good luck last year running a set of 20's on the front (stock Honda 90 fronts) on the Douglas offset rims and a set of 18-10.5?'s on the rear. (they were a Maxxis tire that came stock on E-Ton 90's- had to get them from an E-Ton dealer)

Yes, all very large tires, comparativly, but they seemed to work VERY well for the NEATV 50lim class.

The bigger tires seemed to float up over the softer sand and loose tracks and on the harder tracks, it gave more "suspension" and grip/bite as well as upping the "gearing for top end.

Of course the 2nd place bike for the season ran very small 16's all around all year, so you'll have to make your own choice I guess!

Anybody know what the stock offset is for the front and the rears on both the 50 and 90. These are the newest models if that makes a difference.

I am so confused. hahahaha. I am looking at ordering but I keep seeing the right size but then it ask's for offset.

Who has the best deals on tire / wheel packages?

Thanks,
Darrell

4"inside offset on the front 6" wide wheels. rears are 6" wide 4"outside offset I believe?

Are you referring to the 06 rim size? They were 6" front and rear 110/4 bolt pattern

I am pretty sure that the 07 dual a-arm fronts are a different size....10" x 5" with 144/4 bolt pattern...

Steven623
03-11-2007, 02:56 PM
The 07 DRX has a 6" front wheel 4 0n 144 bolt pattern

riding4fun

OK, on the 90 and 50 I measured the fronts, and came up with 2' offset on the outside and 4" on the inside.

The rear were 4" on the inside and outside.

The rear on the 50 appears to be 3 3/4" on the outside and 2 1/4 ? on the inside.

Does this sound right?

Livin4Real,

Looks like a good site. Do these wheels and tires look right.

Rear on 90
18-6.5-8 NHS 4Ply SNOW HOG tires on 8X6 2N+4N 4/110 .125 Douglas Aluminum Wheels.

Rear on 50
16-6.5-8 NHS 2Ply SNOW HOG tires on 8X6 2N+4N 4/110 .125 Douglas Aluminum Wheels.

Front wheels only for 50 and 90
10X6 4B+2N 4/144 .125 Douglas Wheel

You may want to get a stronger rim.... like .190

The .125 can bend/dent fairly easy

Livin4Real
03-12-2007, 03:12 PM
If your son was older/bigger I would maybe go with a thicker rim but just starting out I wouldn't worry about it. Also I don't believe Douglas offers the 8x6 in anything other than .125 . ITP has .190 but you will pay more. And yes as long as that's the right bolt patterns it looks good.
LT80 was always recommending another brand of tire but I can't remember what the heck it was now. The snowhogs are what we've ran for years though and perform great.

riding4fun

Thanks everybody,

I went with the .190 for the fronts and .125 on the rear with the snow hogs.

I just wanted to say thanks to everybody. It's nice to have people like you on this board to help out with the people that are not in the know, like me. But I am learning.
