ok one piston ring shattered then the piston broke. had to replace the head and have the cylinders bored new pistons all that good stuff.

so what i am going to do is clean the case out by running oil through it over and over. but i am thinking maybe i should take the case apart??? not sure if it is necessary.

i have all the big pieces of the piston so the other stuff is small enough to wash out. maybee i am just being lazy.:ermm:

What year is it? Might be time for a new crank. Best time to do it is while its all apart

it is an 87. the engine was just rebuilt but the guy screwed the people before me on the cylinders, he could have screwed up everything but it ran fine til the rings blew. and everything looks good and feels tight. i am tearing it down Saturday so we will see what happens.

my friends dad owned it before me and i was ridding it when it broke before i bought it.
