Piston Slap???

If you had excessive piston to cylinder clearences. what kind of noise would that make? I have a knock coming from my cylinder and am just trying to narrow it down between that or my crank.

take a doctor listen to heart(stethoscope?)thingy or a screwdriver. touch it to the motor and put your ear to it. you will be able to tell where it is coming from. slap shouldn't be to loud. more like a clatter than a knock. a knock is more like a rod
