Well, this is something I don't want to do, but as of right now I don't have the time to ride anymore, plus I'm trying to get back into racing bikes again. As many of you know, this bike was built last august, and won Blingstar Quad of the Month in September of '06. Since finishing it, the quad has never seen the woods. It has only been rode on our play track (and 300 ft drag strip). Basically, this is a brand new quad.
The quad...
The frame is a 01' 400ex w/ a sore racing gusset kit. The subframe is also gusseted and modded for a '88-'89 250r/'04-'05 450r grab bar. +2+1 Janssen Racing a-arms are up front w/ a +2+4 lonestar axle in the rear. Suspension is DeRisi Works tripple rates w/ rezzies in the front and a stock rear. Steering is provided by a chrome Burgard +1 stem w/ anti-vib clamps and 1 1/8" Tag T2s (Cr-hi).
The motor has prolly 6 hours on it and is a 440cc w/ a 11:1 Wiseco piston and TC Racing CDI. The cam is a stage 2 hotcam. The head was done at Joe Gibbs Racing by their one and only head guy, and still uses stock size valves. As of right now the carb is a built stock carb (ported and removed choke), but the motor loves a 41mm FCR, but that has been sold. It also has a Sparks X-6 ceramic coated exhaust and uni filter in a p/ced insane performance aluminum air box. The clutch is a hinson 8 plate w/ HD springs and a hinson basket. The quad runs fine on 93, but I usually run turbo blue 110 through it.
Now for all the other stuff... Silver Laker custom plastics, n style gripper seat cover, ITP T-9 bajas w/ 19" and 18" holeshot mx's, Blingstar iron cross bumper, blingstar grab bar, blingstar notorious pegs, blingstar notorious nerfs (not out yet but will be here June 1), ac propegs, ac grab bar and bumper, homemade OMF shrouds, regina z-ring gold chain, durablue anti-fade lock nut, lonestar steel braided brakelines, fresh brake pads, new OEM battery, etc.
Like I said this is basically a new bike w/ EVERY bearing and seal replaced. A-arms also have brand new ball joints. Another cool detail is every bolt on the bike is a stainless allen head which is pretty trick. The frame, subframe, swingarm and a-arms are p/ced brandywine (various shades of red depending on lighting). Wheels, bumpers, nerfs, shrouds, oil tank, etc were p/ced black. Everything else was chromed...clutch and stator cover, motor mounts, rezzi mounts, tie rods, case saver, sprocket, pb block off, brake pedal, pro design shifter, all hand controls (clutch perch and lever, billet master cylinder cover, brake lever, entire thumb throttle), and anti-vibe clamps.
A good bit of stock stuff goes w/ quad like wheels and tires and plastics. I also have full skids. I may sit the quad out at Charlotte Honda, but I would rather not have every hood rat playing on it. 400s are definetly a dying breed, but I don't want to see this one get parted out. As of right now, that is not an option. $4500
