It seems to me that you have the upper hand. If he can't sell it then why does he need to know tomorrow? And if he can as you say "He can sell mine quicker just because of the starter and stuff." then it seems to me you'd be on the losing end.

I'd offer him a straight across trade and live with the results.

I almost bought me a 450R but decided to keep my 400EX instead because most of my mods wouldn't swap and I didn't want to spend more $$$'s to get it the same as I had my 400EX.

If your's is stock and his stock, even $600 might be worth it but I'd stay with the straight across offer.

i'd have to say go for it if he has papers and it's all legit then do it but i would try to get him to trade strait up to see if you can get even a better deal!
