the flames would have to go for me, but other than that nice bike.

But you do need some suspension. all that motor and only stock 450 shocks. you would be surprised what some decent shocks and a-arms would do for you, and an Ext. swinger to.

Thank you for your input. I am mostly going to ride trail. Im not going to do any races. Just have this to mess around on. I traded it stright up for my 95 gsxr 750 crotchrocket and all i have bought since then was the 450r fronts/all new rims and tires and the 2 mods that I have in my sig in bold that are not mounted yet. I am not putting anymore money in this quad for now. plus A-Arms and after market shocks are ALOT of money! I just have this to mess around on. Its a little bit of an upgrade from my 1st quad. 94 Yamaha Blaster dont you think!?! haha

is that tin foil around your exhaust pipe?
and all you need is arms since you can just get your 450r shocks revalved for cheap which is pretty much the same as an aftermarket shock. just a thought your handeling would be so much better for all that power

No that is not tin foil. It is exhaust wrap. Like I said, I just bought it and i have only put new tires/rims/front shocks on it. So the guy I bought it from put on the exhaust-wrap. Is this the only atv out there that has exhaust-wrap on? ha ha Here is a zoomed in pic of it.

Very nice. That should hang with the 450s without a problem.

U a t-maxx fan?

That is a nice looking bike! It should run pretty damn good.

Thanks for the complements guys! It has Sunco purple 110 octane fuel in it right now. Do I have to use that? I think that I should be able to use 92 or 93. What do you guys think? Its a 460 stroker with 10.5:1 compression piston.

P.S. These pics are taken in my father in laws garage. He has 3 or 4 of those T-maxx's. I think they are cool but i dont have one.

You should be able to run 93 octane with the 10.5:1 piston, if you have a little detonation still just do a 50/50 mix of the 110 and 93.

hey nice quad man. that should definitly run with the 450s. when it gets warm you should try to race the gokart that goes with those parts in the pic, lol.

its a 400ex so the advertised compression ratios aren't even correct. I used to run 87 with my wiseco 11:1 piston and never had deto.

What do you mean the ratios are not correct exrider?!

Nearly every aftermarket piston for a 400ex is actually an xr400 piston and they are not exactly the same. The 400ex piston at TDC sits .040" down in the cylinder. Why Honda did this I will never figure out, but its there. I believe someone said that an 11:1 piston is actually under 10:1 truely. I ran an 11:1 wiseco, with a cometic thin head gasket, and still ran 87 with no problems.

yea, but the aftermarket piston manufacturers would know this...and they would have to compensate for it.

im not saying that your wrong about where the piston sits in the cylinder at TDC...but i think that the aftermarket also knows this and fixes it too
