BIG difference! I spent less than 200 shipped. I will never run stockers again. Like having the ability to tune them 3 ways.

Don't need to for me (they come factory for 170 -180 lb rider).
They sit perfect You can adjust them from almost 1" above factory 400EX to around 2 1/2" lower than stock. Still messing with rebound and compression damping but so far they feel awsome going across the ice ruts in my yard at all speeds. In short they are awsome compared to stockers. Soak up everything. I jumped my retaining wall(3 foot up one side with 4 foot down the other side.) landed flat on the other side and no bottom out.

Ive been thinking about doing the same thing. I bought warrior shocks off my friend. they lowered my ex by nearly 3 inches. but i still bottem out. yea there ALOT better then stock but I know the yfz shocks are a hell of alot better. did u have to grind down the eyebolt holes? As soon as i get more money im gonna get long travel +2 a-arms and if i dont get the yfz shocks i think im gonna go with elka or pep.

If you get longtravel a-arms then you wont be able to run the stock YFZ shocks, you are going to have to go with long travel shocks also... fyi

Chin_Chilla's right, you will have to go to aftermarket shocks setup for longtravel. if you stay with standard travel you can use them.

On a yfz maybe, once you mounted them up to your 400 you can throw that out the window. You changed all the pivot points and leverage/motion ratios. They are no where near correct for the 400ex geometry. Im sure they still ride better than the stockers though...

Don't quote me on this, but I think the YFZ a-arms are like +2 for the ex.... as in if you could mount the yfz a-arms on an ex, it would be the same as +2...i dont remember where i heard this or if its even accurate , but it would make a big difference...

It might be that way if your takling strictly width, but I doubt all the mounting points are the same, and even if they were, that would make those shocks ride very stiff on the EX.

Yfz's upper aarms have a solid bar that goes from side to side on the mounting point. Pointless to try and get them to work.
