07 Kicker XC Race Quad Build

My build is well under way and I should be able to finish most of it up next week. I am still waiting on a few parts to show up, the biggest being my Flexx bars from Fasst that I sent in for a bar rebuild. My ASV C5 clutch perch should show up this week from DeRisi and then I will just be waiting on the new Rath XC bumper, Rath nerfs, and kill switch to come from Houser.

Those are UNI filters and yes they come with that cage that goes inside the filter to add strength to it. You guys should see these parts in person. They are amazing!:D

Lumi those are UNI filters. They come with the screen and clamps. Not bad for $26.

Where are you guys gettin the uni's with screens and clamps ? I got mine for $30 and it didnt come with a screen or clamp , just a filter ? hmmmm Fill me in please

I ordered both of those filters from C&D Racing.

I got my ASV perch Friday and talked to Cole from Fasst today and my bars were suppose to ship today 3 day air so I have them for the weekend. I hope to finish it up this weekend!

I have it pretty much finished up. All I have to do is cut the front plastic and check my ride height, then go over everything after some time.

My Douglas Shamrocks and skid plates are all that are missing. I'll get some pictures with it ready to race Saturday or Sunday.

Pictures don't do justice for all of the sweet detail he has on this thing. Nearly everything is coated (powdercoat or molycoat) and it looks sweet!

I'm sponsored by Elka, Houser, Precision, IMS, and DeRisi Racing this year. The sponsors help a lot, but it's really not that hard to get to 15,000 if you start adding stuff up. I could still spend a lot more money if I wanted too. I bet there are a lot of 450's on here that have quite a bit more in them then mine.

I like my HMF exhaust. The Rossier and DASA may make more power but I like the HMF, it holds up great too.

Your average race quad is going to have between 12-25K into it once your done. I have added up my yfz with the purchase price and came out to $24700.00 and my 450r has about $17000 into it....

How did the 450 hold up? I was 2 quads behind you on the start in the mud. But the ole KQ just don't go 100MPH in the woods:p

Seems like it held up pretty good, except my front brakes did quit working, so the calipers are coming apart. Other then that I think it's good, but I won't spec clean it until the weekend. lol

The back does sit high without anybody sitting on it, but the ride height is set for me on it.

Thanks Chad. I don't know how many people asked me if I was going to ride it at the race. lol. I guess they thought it was too nice to race. That's what it was built for.

Gray those pictures were taken in Culver at the first D15 harescramble. As far as looking like a Pro I have a long ways to go before that will happen. lol

By the way I got the computer info from Shawn, I was tied for having the fastest lap time in B class. I'm ready this year, I get in shape and I'll be there.

I need to work on my first lap times. Everyone else always jumps ahed of me by 5 mins:eek2: Then I gain about 2 mins on everyone. I had a top 5 laptime.

I like the lap time thing. It really shows what 10 secs really does to ya every lap.

I smell.....suzuki...mmm suzuki KQ coming for you next race.:devil:

Dave, the bike looks great. I have a question for you, I think that I saw you somewhere on here that you were using the older style Honda thumb throttle housing and a Tokoyo Mods FCR Spring and a TRX 90 Lever. Am I right? If so what year of TRX 90 lever are you using or does it even matter? Thanks alot

I don't think the year of the lever matters. You can check with Colby at C&D to be sure, he told me they sell a lot of those setups. After finishing the first race my thumb didn't hurt at all and I had no problems pushing the throttle. The combination of the old throttle with 90 lever and Tokyo mods spring really helped.
