yes...have you seen the bikein person? are you going to look at it in person? do you know what a tie rod is and where it is at?

if you look close enough, you can see that it is bent

A brand new tie rod is $12 so I say if it runs good, buy it. Seems like a good deal.

a bent tie rod will make the quad set like that. But my ? is...what did he hit to bend the tie rod? I'm sure you know this but....Look the front of that quad REAL close. The frame could be bent to.

it don't take much to bend the stock tie rods on these bikes

Check the frame for any cracks or flaking paint near the welds. This will tell you if the frame was stressed from the impact. If there are any cracks or the paint on the frame is flaking, I wouldn't buy it. Hope this helps.

he clipped something witht he left front tire...i bent mine the same way and i wasn't going much over 10 mph....dang log should have looked both before it crossed the trail

so your saying that a log got lodged in there and bent it?

03-07-2007, 02:25 PM
no, he probably just hit somthing with the leading edge of his front tire...it was big enough or high enough that tire didn't roll over it...and instead of the suspension taking the brunt of the hit, the tie rod did and bent...

a log, a rock...anything like that could have done it...

yea i hit a tree witht he left front going 6 mph and bent it exactley like that.... there desighed to taek the impact so the frame doesn't

i think the tie rods bend so easy so they bend instead of the a arms.

ok, so does a tie rod just screw right into the ball joint? kinda like a 400ex?

And also, if I was that guy selling the 450...

I would have DEFFINATLY thrown a new tie rod on there before advertising it.. Then no one would have any questions about it.. Not a smart move on his part.

Unless some other stuff is bent too and he wants to be able to say, "All it needs is a new tie rod" even though he knows other stuff is messed up.

Just a thought.
