Id like some thoughts on this an i knew this would be the place to go for opinions.

Anyway. I got a 1983 Suzuki gs550L from my friend for free (well i did some work for him and this is how he payed me). Either way its closest to free in my book, and there was no way i was going to even think about cruising around on it the way it looked so i started to rip it all apart and here is the result on what i have now.

Its not really a chopper, more of a rat bike, ive road it and its deffinitly not the best ride but im going more for unique style. What do you guys think on the remaining items needed to complete it. (Remember i want to keep this low budget)

Done with the paint: Blue medal flake with tons of clear

I cut the frame from underneath tank and cut it back adding 4 inches of rake to the front end. not as gay as it was

I'd definatly put on a longer rear fender or you'll have crap slung up all over your back. Maybe put some crotch rocket bars on it to give a little bit of a drag look.

The mini choppers are made by ripoff companies from Taiwan, HK, Mainland China and Korea.

Here are some more pics:

I'm getting way off topic. Thought you might want to see some of the mini mini choppers over here.

What kind of seat are you planning to use on your project?

just gave me some ideas about what i could do with my aunts old kawi 550 spectre:D

Im haveing a friend do some airbrushing on the bike for free, the powdercoating was free, so far i have $5 in on it for a magneto cover gasket and about $15 for fabric for the homade seat, not pictured yet. Im giong to use a trail tech speedometer not sure on headlights and turnsignals yet

those motors in the knock offs look pathetic, atleast the bike has a 4 cylinder 550, im thinking on rigging up a suicide shifter. Its going to be a nice weather bike so the rear fender doesnt bother me to much i suppose. Thanks for the advice though, i have a pair of exspensive *** victory hammer handlebars that im putting on it, that i got for free from my work (victory/polaris dealer)

That looks really good man. I like it. I have a friend who had a 450 'zuk given to him. Looks dorky like your original too. Th changes you've made look really good though, I'd ride it!!! I sent the photos to him even.

looks like you need to declusterize all the electrical wires on the forks....but other than that its pretty sweet! :macho

Pretty impressive man, good work! Looks good, what are you going to do for a seat?

How'd you rig up the suspension, like a softail or something?

Maybe you found your calling, the next Jesse James!

Definitely clean up the wiring on the forks. IMO the rear fender is sitting too high off the tire. If you wanna spend the money springer front ends look sweet. For a head light I think this one would look B.A.

haha, thanks guys. I am very surprised with your positive comments. Yeah i plan on hiding all the wires, and yes im going with a headlight just taking my time finding one that isnt over $100 and i cut the stock eat and re cut the foam and stiched my own seat cover. Looks sweet.

HAha show off. That light looks good but im wanting a fatter style bullet type of shape headlight to make the front end look beefier(sp)

Im most likly just going to throw on some extra crotch rocket flush mount turn signals, and i have a vertical plate mount that goes on the swingarm.
