How is the reliabilty of a 2003 predator. This pred has a pure polaris pipe and the rest is stock. The guy wants $2500 for it. Tell me the pros and cons of this wheeler thanks.

2003 preddys were good quads but had 2 problems (first year monsters) they werent very weak but the frame is know for cracking in the gas tank area and they had gear troubles. Ive owned alot of polaris machines (7 right now) and they are great machines

What is the fix to the gear troubles buying a new tranny

There is a kit available to update the trans. You might go to: http://www.predatorowners.com
and do a search for tranny fixes.

Rath Racing sells a frame gusset kit for the Pred.

thats definatly worth it ive ridden both and 03 predator and and 04 yamaha 350 raptor definatly get that predator my friend bought and 03 predator for $3800 definatly get it you will love the power very hard hitting

my friend has an 03 mx pred, rath everything, pep shocks. jumps some pretty big doubles with it, and the frame cracked right in half under the tank. both rails! i was jumping it and thought the suspension needed a rebuild, i thought it was botteming out...turns out it was the frame flexing in half! otherwise though, i love the quad. i don't think it's overly heavy, it flies straight, and i like the power.

yeah the trannys in 03's were the major issue. got to the HPD website and they have the kit for it to upgrade the weak parts. the frames as said also had a major weak point right at the rear gastank mount, 2 of my friends have had 03's and both broke there, one just cracked the other was a clean full break on both sides. Rath and a few other companies have gusset kits for them. thats the 2 big problems that there are with 03 preddy's other than that its just the usual problems you can expect with any 4 year old sport quad...

I own a 2003 pred that I payed $2600 for. No problems yet.
