Im in the same situation, As soon as I get my 300ex parted out im buying me a new LTR-450 and my dads co-signing for me.

I was in the same situation about 6 months ago. Everyone was telling me to get this get that. Most of them told me to get the LT-R450 because it was the widest. and some told me to get the Honda 450R. So I went and got the YFZ450 I wanted to be diff. Am loving every time on it. I couldn't of picked a better bike.

i was goin to buy a 450 and had the same problem but i wanted to be differnt and saved alot of $ and bout a old quadracer. new is not always better.look for newer used bikes for much less and there still mostly new.

probably because 5-6k is a lot of money to be making a mistake and being unhappy.....:)

i never heard of anyone being disapointed in a full blown race 250r...and youll save a few grand...


but if i were to get a 450, i would get a lightly used LTR that has all the basic mods done aready and save yourself even more money...just me though

I would get a 450R, i love mine and wouldnt trade it for anything, the yamaha is a nice bike but from the 2 people i race with that have them, they both have had problems and wish they would have bought something differnt, the suzuki is a sweet bike too, another person i race with has one and for a first year bike it ran pretty much flawless, with some 20's i would be good in trails id say
