i put a fmf slip on exhaust on and i got a dynojet kit....

i ran the bike before jetting and it was running fine bt backfiring occasionally on deceleration

tore apart the carb and changed my needle put it on the 3rd clip from the edge

i was checkin the pilot jet and didnt have any jet in my kit that looked like it went there so i kept it stock 38k

then the jet...the first one you can unscrew and i unscrewed the second one and nothing in my dynojet kit like it?

so i ran it around and it was boggin abotu 3/4 throttle which means its too rich right? so i messed with the air/fuel screw and couldnt fix it so i went back to stock and messed with air/fuel screw and had it working good just had a really low idle.

heres when the **** hits the fan
i revved it up sitting still a couple times and then it went to go back to idle and just died

now it wont even crank. i have changed plugs and still wont crank
Any help out there? i know this is long but bare with me

What jets sizes are you running? Is your gas on? Do you have gas?

stock jets now

gas is on and there is gas

the spark plug i took out was pure black which means im getting too much gas right?

if it wont crank over then i would start checking electircal. check the coil and make sure its grounded, then i would check the fusses, and work my way back to the battery.

Not a big fan of the k&n jet kit run a 40 pilot and a 152 or 155 main jet turn air srew all the way in and back it out 2 turns try that you say its not cranking check the main fuse by the solenoid........

He's using Dyno Jets, I suggest using a 42K pilot jet, 148 dyno (equal to 155 keihin), 2 3/4 turns out the fuel screw from LIGHTLY seated. Make sure you have a full tank of fuel, and try choking it when starting.

have u checked to see if u have spark, check that next, and i know it sounds dumb but make sure your switch on the handlebars is not off(iv done that)

o actually i do have a question
when i took apart the carb there is a circle looking plastic piece that is the same color as the floats im almost positive i have it in right as it only fits good one way but is there a way it could have slipped or something when i put the carb back together?

The little plastic that goes around the main jet and adapter? Yes that needs to be there, it fits one way and needs to stay in place, if you're using dyno jets, PLEASE make sure you use the Adapter that came with it, it will bog at 3/4 throttle, because the adapter acts like a jet too, if you didn't the main jet will probably be at the bottom of the bowl.

omg....hahah i feel like a dumbass....

i put the adapter in and no jet thats why it was bogging....but i swear i put a jet i nthere too...

damn i cant even remember....but i did take it out and put stock back in and it should have crunk up

the only thing i think it could be is that small plastic piece fell outta place when putting it back together....

im gonna order a 42k pilot and wait til i get home and check the plastic piece for placement and then adjust it from the bottom of the bowl so i dont take apart the bowl from the carb

how many screws out on the air/fuel should i be around?

Don't worry I did the same except just screwed the jet into the needle/jet holder :p Anyway, it really depends, since you have a 42 pilot it can be anywhere from 2 turns out the fuel screw to about 2 1/2...I would put it at 2 1/2

And it won't start or idle probably because it's flooded :blah: , Drain the float and drain again.

How does draining the float bowl help a flooded motor?

u need to make sure u have spark, all the fuel in the world wont do u any good if it wont ignite. if it has spark, 400ex are known for needles sticking open. so if its flooding that might be your problem

Step 1. Throw out the Dyno jet kit.

Step 2. Order a 40, and 42 Keihin Pilots, And 152,155,160 Keihin Mains from Jetsrus.
That is better than messing with adapters and figuring out the diff between Keihin and Dynojet.
