is that stuff just wd 40 because it is just as flamable and it smells the same
I think you are right dude. That is what is smells like, and it does the same thing. I just bought one for mine, and it seams that way....

Palmolive dishwashing liquid wroks very well.
Dish soap and warm water work very well....

you still have to oil it
after you wash it you let it dry. Then you oil it and re-instal it.

I use the filter cleaner, and then the dishwashing soap. The filter cleaner works good on any filter that requires grease on the seal surface, because it cuts through it well. I don't like using gasoline because it's hard on the filter's glued seams.

Uni filter cleaner is more like go-jo hand cleaner than wd-40.
It works quite well..........and so does go-jo hand cleaner :)
just don't use the kind with pumice.

I used palmolive. I'm using the maxima filter oil and that stuff just doesn't want to come off. I ended up leaving a little amount on there. Anyone else have this problem?

not if you use foam filter cleaner. :)
