Well today I spent the afternoon cleaning under the hood of my 99 5.4L F-150. It was too cold to use a hose and do it properly so I did what I could by hand instead. Just thought I would snap some pics and a vid of the end product to share with you guys.. :D

Here's my proof to start off...haha

damn friend. you have a nice truck. yes i just said friend. i like how your engine bay is red and so is the outside of the truck!! nice combo. ive heard of the blue/red ones too though. but you have to put a completely different motor in it. but seriously nice truck. whats the hp on that beast?

Thanks...yeah I had to spend a lot of extra cash for the red engine bay...lol J/K. It's making right around 450 HP at the crank, but put down 379 RWHP/424 ft-lbs RWTQ on the Dynojet where I work.

Looks good! I love the guages, are they Summitt? You should be able to keep up with a Lightning with that setup.

Nice truck but just one question why not a Lightning. A Lightning will give you the handeling along with the power, trust me i know i own one. And for the keeping up with a Lightning only if the Lightning is stock but any mods and he should have you covered. Not bashing just stating my oppinion and like i said the truck is realy nice and you can be sure you will never see another one on the road. Good luck with it.

Thanks guys. The gauges are Autometer Lunar series.

I love Lightnings don't get me wrong, but A.) They aren't 4WD and B.) They are not extended cab, so you only have a single bench. Living in the midwest, we get a lot of snow and 4wd has saved me many times. Also, I haul a lot of stuff around by nature. A standard cab doesn't offer much extra room to put your stuff. Being that the Lightning wasn't practical enough for my needs, I chose to make my own 4wd supercab "Lightning"....problem solved :p I also could have done the Lightning transplant, but elected to go centrifugal to try something a little different.

The speedo unfortunately quits at 100 because the cluster was designed to be plug and play with the Ford unit. I don't need to be going over 100 anyways but i'll admit I have in the past. In the diagnostics mode, through the digital odometer, I have a speedo readout to the tenth of a mile per hour that goes above 100 so no problems there.

Nice L's up there ^^^ I have always liked the DSG Lightnings..

I totaly understand your deal with having 4 wheel drive, my dad has an expidation and drives his work truck so when the weather is bad the L stays put and the expy comes out.

ZWILLETT47 i love the GEN 1 wath year, i have a 93 and it is my babby. I love that thing, by any chance a part of the NLOC (national lightnng owners club) if not the site is very informative and has helped me many of times the link is www.nloc.net

I will get a pic. of my L up as soon as i get it washed right now its lookin pritty dirty!

Hmm, maybe I should throw a super charger on my 250LD

Your truck and mine are like cousins Shift :blah: Still lookin' good man

First thing I want to say is these kits ain't cheap, yet are still affordable...really depends on how much you want to go fast lol. I drove my truck for 5 years in N/A form and it took me about 3 years of steady savings to afford this kit.

I paid about $3,500 for the kit from a Procharger dealer who cut me a deal on it. I believe they are going for around $3,700 direct through ATI. The base kit comes with a P-1SC with the 9 psi pulley, Gates belt, tubing and all the associate parts, bypass valve, intercooler, fuel pump, and fuel management unit. It is designed to work with a stock truck with no tune but is very basic and has room for improvement.

On top of all that, I went with the 12 psi pulley, shorter belt, colder heat range motorcraft plugs, ditched the stock 19 lb/hr injectors for 42 lb/hr ford racing green tops, added a 90mm Lightning MAF, ditched the fuel management unit, had the truck dyno tuned with a wideband O2, plus various other parameter tweaks using the SCT Xcalibrator 2. After all that, now we have a truck with a spot-on A/F ratio across the powerband....reliability was the key concern for me.

Anyone ever watch Trucks?
