i am having troble i think with overheating. after like hour in half of riding or more sometimes my bike starts to bogg at the top end or full thottle. then 1min later moves down to middle end then to the put it barly runs and stalls and wont start up. after sitting for like 15, 10min it runs great again. i ride it hard alot of the time to.
could it be the coolant i am running preston 50/50
my bike is running rich
i dont have rad shourds
its a stock rad

Shrouds would help funnel more air through the radiator, i would get some of those...
better to run rich than it is lean.

I run 32:1 ratio with that maxima 927 stuff... I've had my R since december and pretty much have rode it almost everyday... I'm still on the same spark plug.

sounds like a similar problem i had. it ended up being the ingition coil. it would run fine, then slowly bog out after 10-15 min, then it cooled and ran great again. over and over i tried to fix things, but it was a simple fix in the end. you can test if with an ohm meter, thats what i did. or, find one off a buddies quad or for $10 on ebay if you dont have an ohm meter and test it that way. hope it all works out, see ya. Yeh I was gonna say your ignition is getting hot.

My quad runs a real long time on 1 plug, you might want to jet a little leaner, bring it down 5 numbers.
