400ex headpipe

Has anyone done any mods or spacers to their stock headpipe? Those aftermarket ones cost so much. I put a spacer on my girlfriends polaris 250 and got LOTS more bottom end. Wondered if it could be done on a 400ex?

I'll bet the Pol 250 was a 2 stroke? If so, that makes some sense by changing the expansion chamber characteristics.

I used a exhaust donut from a toyota or some import car. I got it from a service station that my brother was working at. it was cone shaped on both ends so it fit into the manifold and the pipe creating a spacer.

Spacing the 4 stroke head pipe won't do anything for it.

You can dremel the weld just inside the head. Don't grind it al the way out, There's Alot of extra Non-needed material there.

I have a 400ex header i could sell you. I dont have any use for it anymore since i sold my 400ex.
