I searched and really didnt find anything, Plus the search wont let you search for just "416"

When you jump to a 416 and keep eveything stock, will it stay with the stock jetting?

My brother in law got had is redont to a 416 and in an hour we are putting on a hmf slip on, kn filter and he has no airbox lid so im guessing hes goin to keep running with out one. The elveation is 450' above sea level.

The slip on he bought came with a 165 main jet, To me that seems too high. I have a ful exhaust and only have a 160.

So thats where it comes in, does a 416 need bigger jetting just because its a 416?

I would try a 160 or the 165 main. I gave jetting recommendations to people that run a 170 main with just a slip-on and a 416.

We swapped the jet, it had a 165 all ready in it. Just with a KN and open airbox. Stock pilot though. I didnt have a 42 pilot to put in so he had to stick with the stock 38. It is a pain in the *** to start. So monday he is goin to get a new pilot.

When i pulled the spark plug it was too rich with the 165, with stock exhaust. I put in a 160 and he put on the HMF slip on. It seems to still be running rich though from the test ride. It was bogging down a little in first gear but the rest seemed fine. Do you think its from the small pilot jet?

What can i do for the mixture scew and needle? Elev. is 450 above sea level.

I appreciate the help.

Where is the bog precisely? idle- 1/4-1/2-3/4-WOT.

1/4 throttle.. Im assuming its the smaller pilot. After that it gets up and goes. Just seems like it has a hard time from start.

maybe you better wait and put the 42 pilot in then we'll see what it does. But if you want maybe raise your needle one notch see if that helps.

O ok then, well when you get it in tell me how it's running and if the bog is still there.
