telemarketers can now call your cell phone as well as your home phone...put your cell numbers on the do not call registry to prevent them from calling you for the next 5 years...

This was in the news a couple months back. It's not real.. telemarketers cannot call your cellphones. The email that went around was fake.

go to the site, it is the official site for the national "do not call registry" registry, you can register your cell phone, and i have had telemarketers call my cell phone before, they can as long as they don't use automated dialers...

i have had my home phone registered since the inception of this and i do not get calls from telemarketrs anymore.

i have considered that, but my neighborhood looses power a lot, no power means no phone, i have a rambunctious 5 year old daughter, i can't be without a phone...

How do you figure? Most people who have Vonage moved their old phone number to the Vonage service, meaning you still have the same old phone number telemarketers have.

Maybe because Vonage is IP based?

No, because dialing a phone number to a POTS (Plain Old Telephone Service) is no different than dailing a phone number on a VOIP service.
