Then i found otu that i can get a Elka/Houser Long travel Front end for less than a Houser/Pep set up.

What is the total price on Elka/Houser Long Travel Frotn End?

Post some Pics?

Tell me how you like them?

Also how much is a Herrman/Houser Long Travel Front end?

Thanks

Does anyone make +2 long travel a- arms? I only see +1 or +3

10-04-2002, 11:32 AM
Houser has the +2 long travel for the 19" shocks.

I think that they are rare cause most would use the +1 for XC and +3 for MX.

i would think the hermmann/elka or axis set up would be the best

I never really seen anyone use AXIS with the Laegers T-Pin,but who knows......

Also a T-pin front end is like $2k + shocks, so how is Roll a Rip Off?You get shocks and a-arms with the Roll Set-Up,just don't get a stem,so inclde a stem, and bam, thats the same price as the Laegers/PEP set-up.......

P.S. Roll sells its front ends now Minus shocks,so your lookign at $1450 for just the a-arms and all, then you need shcoks...so now if you want roll, you can have your "All Mighty Holy Grale" Elka's with a Roll Frt,cause we all know, ain't no shock better than Elka, they be the shiznit....

Jones runs Axis Shocks with his T-Pin.

I just don`t like Roll and think they are a Rip off.

I think the Best Setup would be the Walsh/Axis, but that is my Opinion.

Oh yah thats right Warrior...I forgot about ole Jones......

Also, you know whats funny, while we spends thousands on front ends and all to make em ride better, our dirtbike buddies spend about $600 at the most to have one of the best front ends around...lol ain't that some shyt..plus it costs waaaay less to make a dirtbike more competetive, slap a pipe, reeds, bars, air filter, suspension re-valve,and triple clmap, and your ready to rumble.....

Yes I think that is crap. Cannondale came out with the first Race Ready Quad, and it`s 12,500. Most Guys can`t afford to buy one. You could have 2 new dirt bikes for that. For most Dirt Bikers they put on a pipe and are ready to race depending on 2 or 4 stroke. If somebody could make a Race Ready Quad for $7,000, that would be awesome and they would sell so many they wouldn`t know what to do. Plus A-Arms for $500 to $700 bucks? That is nuts too, but we pay for them. Shocks anywhere from $200 to $1,400. Again we buy them. I don`t think stuff will ever get Cheaper.

yeah, price is the killer with quads, i never realised dirt bikes where that cheap to upgrade!

i guess its just our luck, im gonna buy a CRF450r soon, i want both worlds. at least i know the only aftermarket money ill be spending well go to my quad.

You know its funny how everyone has a different opinion on whats the best, but far as I can see so far none of those people has that set up.

I am starting to believe that all the Suspension manufacturers mentioned are very good and the products are more simialiar than any of us are willing to accept.

Think about it for a second that even if you are looking exclusively at the pro racers most of the mfg's listed have been on the podium and the "new" ones seem to be winning more and more.

I think that the main diff in the products besides personal preference is price. Sure there are slight changes in mfg and design but for the most part all of the products listed are of good quality and perform well enough to win races.

Now I could have purchased any of the a-arm + shock combo's listed and had a very long and sometimes painfull (its not easy to get "real" info) look into which one to get but when push came to shove not one of the others I had looked at could convince me of any advantage over the much less expensive set up I got. So untill Elka and Houser get as expensive as the Laegers, Roll and Axis etc they are a true value and you should at least check them out seriously.

Almost forgot this... The prices we have to pay to make our quads perform well is CRIMINAL:grr

They may be Expensive, but I will always want a Quad over a Dirt Bike.
