Just wondering if anybody knows when the 2008 450R's will be coming out?

I think my dealer gets the next year models in either June or July

lets not hope for september release, but rather june, hondas already messed up enough as it is by worrying about what everyone else is doing and cutting their models short.

why does veryone want fuel injection, it creates several problems that you won't have on a carb.

thats why you took th efuel injection off your car and truck and put on a carb right??

yep, generally you can tell when a carb is acting funny and be able to fix it trackside, with EFI it will just quit at once, or with a much shorter warning time, i prefer to adjust my carb over getting a laptop out of my truck to find out what the problem is

i would put money on my properly tuned fcr carb on the yfz vs EFI, you nor me would be able to tell a difference in throttle response, and i believe you are loosing some weight with the carb

well to me, the kawasaki, and suzuki having it, its only time that the yamaha and honda will get it, when taling competitive.. and as are almost all of the 4x4 quads.... carbs are getting obsolete..
they prob gonna have a few changes here and there , minor and stick with the 06 platform.

Why does everyone always think EFI is going to be a problem??? We have basically perfected EFI people... we've been using it in cars for what? Over 20 years now... streetbikes use them and many other types of motorcycles/atvs. I'll buy a $400 power commander over a $400 aftermarket carb anyday and the results you gain out of it will be far better.

see where my problem is with that is that the FCR comes stock on my bike, so i would prefer to keep the fcr carb and put that money elsewhere and not buy that DAMN power commander AND 06 and up 450r's have it, so actually bud FYI very few of us are spending $400 on a fcr carb :o

I don't know if it would be good or bad on a quad, I know on my 929 I love the fuel injection and would never want a carb on a streetbike let alone 3 or four of them. I think fuel injection is great on cars too but I haven't had any problems with the carb on my 450r. I would hate to go through some deep water and mess up the fi and computer on a quad.

First off no honda dealership has any idea when the new 450r is going to be avaailable or if any changes dont let them tell you something because they have no clue they are trying to make themselves look important honda is very secritive on there new product if any been in the industry for 46 years its all bs if your dealer is bragging talk is cheap.............Chris

Well, I don't think they are going to put in a system that wouldn't be meant for quads. I'm sure they will make it waterproof. The LTR seems to be holding up just fine.

im not saying that carbs are bad, im perfectly happy with mine, but it would be nice not to flood it when you stand it up on the grab bar!!!

#1 turn your gas off

#2 you are supposed to let the quad sit for 30-45 minutes after letting it sit on its grab bar, to let everything settle back to normal

**** happens and if it does i want a carb to screw up instead of having to troubleshoot an electrical system

Yeah, I'm waiting for a return to magneto/points ignition systems. I mean come on, who wants CDI ignitions with 3D maps? Now that I'm thinking about it, liquid cooling has been a real disaster too.
