I ordered about 5 Emgo oil filters the other day for my 400ex. And When i got them, everything was fine, they were the right parts and everything. But when i tried to install one, IT WOULDENT FIT!! I have changed the filter many times with the Honda oil filters. But this one is a hair thick. And it bottoms out the spring in the back. I slapped the cover on anyways to see if it would seal up, and there is a crack about the size of a sheet of paper between the cover and the engine on the bottom. The O-ring should keep it from leaking. I started it up and it didnt leak. Hopefully it wont leak when The oil gets nice and hot. So Ill just have to wait and see. But If you want an oil filter that fits right, Stick with HONDA.

just my 2 cents

I would try another one but I wouldn't run it if the cover is not sealed tight.

I know it seems silly, but you didn't manage to put it in backwards did you..

I'd be pulling it back apart.. if it happens to be bacwards the oils not going to circulate and your going to have some serious wrenching to do..

I have been using the Emgo filters for a year now (5 or 6 filters) and have never had a problem with them fitting. Maybe you got the wrong part number?

I've also put about 8-10 emego(sp?) filters in my 400ex and not had any problems with them. Are you sure they sent you the right part #'s ??

I stopped at a bike shop last weekend to pick up a jet. I noticed that they had oil filters so I asked if they had any Honda filters and what they would cost, always looking for a deal.:D Any way he explained to me that they carry Fastline filters. Fastline or fastway, makes them for K&N. They were only $3.25 and the K&N were over $5. He said he would cut me a deal if I bought 10 or more. I am going back when I get done with the Emgo's I already have.

This came off my latest receipt: 45100. I don't know if it's the emgo # or the shops.

The number on the box is as follows:
10-99200

This replaces Honda #s-15412-KFO-000
15412-KFO-010
15412-KFO-670

Hope this helps.......................

its the thing that screws into the top of your oil tank. mine always comes out with oil on the end of it. my fix: dip it and wipe off the stick until i can pull it out and there is no more on there.

I use emgo filters. One of them broke while it was installed one of the metal ends came off so it was just laying in there. But i have not had any other ones that did that.
