Is it a good idea to put some padding or something between the frame, arms, or swingarm when mounting skid plates? Or should I just put them on?

Thanks

depends what kind they are. I have PRM and they have rubber sleaves that go over the bolts i think that keeps them from vibrating and making noise

My Cobra USA skid plates fit nice and snug. No padding between the frame and skid plates. I did however, put locktite on the mounting bolts and made sure they were torqued pretty good.

I just put them on with no padding, well actually I haven't put the main one on yet cause I need to get a couple bolts. But the swingarm and a-arm ones work fine with no padding.

It won't hurt anything to add them but you shouldn't have to add them when new. I had to at one point where my AC skid started to vibrate on me. I just put a few pieces of that dark grey foam pipe insulation you can find in the plumbing aisle...works great!

Get some Weather stripping and put it between the frame and skid. Ir will keep it from rattling and from wearing the paint off your frame.
