View Full Version : milky oil
Last night I descovered milky oil dripping from my head cover breather hose. The engine did set up for about a month. I just changed the oil. What could this be?

milky oil? could be a head gasket...
Is there any way to tell for sure with out tearing it apart?

well, are you missing any coolant?
i know with cars, if your oil is milky, youve likely got a head gasket leak... im assuming it is the same with bikes...

If your oil itself is milky I would be worried but if it was just in the breather hose then I would say it was prob just oil mixed w/ a lil condensation in the breather:cool:

Is the oil like a silver/grayish color?
If so you are getting coolant mixed with your oil...
Just change your gasket and you should be fine.

What he said...Very common especially when it's damp out.

my buddy got a little water in his oil once and it turned real milky real fast, just from a little bit of water. just change it and see if it keeps happening, then it might be the gasket like the other guys are saying.
I changed the oil and it wasnt milky. Found a leak on the upper radiator hose. I think that was where the missing coolant went.
The breather hose does still have alittle milky oil blowing out.
