i plan on running local scrambles this summer and the races are and hour and half to 2 hours long. my ? is will i have to worry bout over heating any, if so is there anything i can do i have air scoops and i am plannin on buyin a bigger oil tank and its goin in soon for a stage 1 cam and 416 piston

Just be sure your jetted right, air filter is clean, you said you had scoops, and might look into a hood mixed opions on the last two but seem to work for me. dont let it sit and idle for a long time, just my 2 cents.....

if its muddy you can put foam rubber in the fins to keep the mud out..

But with the proper jetting you should not have to worry about over heating..


air scoops are good.. bigger oil cooler and reservoir.. all this will help but really is not needed..

not saying your wrong but what kind of foam rubber are you talking bout, half to be something heat resistent.

back when i was racing hare scrambles scott summersused to put real coarse fom in the fins of his xr600 when it was muddy it looked like regular air filter foam. tou might try that.

Id run a high quality synthetic oil also.
