It's been many years since I have owned a quad, so after purchasing my Brute Force, It has this engine brake, which I was not used to.

It almost feels like this thing slows the machine down and hampers the power delivery. I'm not sure I like this feature.

What does everybody think about built in engine brake.

it works good for me. I use it alot because my rear brake barely works, i gotta fix that, and my front brake works. But, the engine break is good. I like it.

ok this is really starting to bother me there a few people in here that are falling into the trap that an engine brake lever really exists...ENGINE BRAKING IS SIMPLY DOWNSHIFTING TO USE THE REV LIMITER TO SLOW DOWN SO YOU DON'T HAVE TO USE THE ACTUAL BRAKES...ok done venting

now tater go get a clue and start reading your sig so you can at least talk about the quads that you actually pretend to have

that was freaking hilarious to me for some reason. i think it is so funny how somehow every thread now gets turned into tater bash-a-thon. lol

You can remove it, you will gain a little bit of power, but you will lose your engine breaking under 5 mph, look at www.kawieriders.com look in the prarie/bf forums, theres a thread on the 1st page about it.
