I have a Resi Showi rear shock off a 250X and I am not sure if it is stock. Will it fit my 02 300EX? If so will it ride better? The 250 is a older model I think. Just looking for a better ride for my 300.

You have 2 different models in your post.

So for clarification.

250x rear shock fits the 300ex fine.

250ex rear shock will not fit the 300ex.

the bike is a 87 model, so I assume it is the 250X. The swingarm mount looks different than my 300Ex. Anyway do you think this 20 year old resi shock is better than my stock shock on the 02? Thanks for all the help.

If it is an 87 then it must be a 250x. 250ex wasn't made until 01 or so. The swingarm mount should be exactly the same as your 300 unless maybe it's aftermarket or from another quad. A 20 yr old shock might not be too bad if it has been rebuilt recently. If it is set up correctly for the 300 then you should notice a huge improvement over the stock shock. The 250x you are talking about could have a 350x trike swingarm which means the shock could be a 350x shock also.

Thanks for the help. This is a pic of the swingarm and shock. The name on it is Showa HA5-671. It has adjustment clicker on bottom of shock and on Resi. Notice the bottom shock mount is different than my stock 300. I am on a budget and wanting a better ride out of my bike. I see no reason to buy a raptor shock if this one is good. The guy that sold me the parts bike said it was a racing setup. Do you have any insite to what the heck it is?Would you go though the trouble to swap swingarms to us it? I just want to ride without being beat to death. Thanks

However, you can get the whole 350x swinger and shock assembly to mount up on a 300ex w/ a little work.

I think it gives you either +3/4" or 1-3/4" I can't remember.
I beleive that's the factory shock, no? That things gotta be pretty worn out.

So my best bet is to keep an eye out for the 01 raptor shock for the rear. What about the front? Any low $$ upgrade shocks that I could find on E-Bay that would help? I see widening kits but I do alot of trail riding andam not sure if I want to go wider. Maybe just better shocks would be a big move in the right direction.

what will I gain with the shock relocators on the bike? will it raise the height of the bike? do you have 400ex shocks also for sale, if so how much for both?

the shock relocator makes the shock mounts higher so the longer 400ex shocks can fit. Or you can put the shock relocator and keep the 300ex shocks to lower the front end.

No i dont have 400ex shocks but i do have the Durablue relocator/lowering kit.

Just bought a 01 raptor rear shock for 70 bucks shipped. Thats not a bad deal from what I have been reading. Now to the front shocks so I can enjoy the new found power.
