THIS MEANS WAY LEAN CORRECT??? POPPING WHEN TRING TO CRANK AND WHEN LETTING OFF GAS IT POPS SOMETIMES. sorry for the all caps... sometime it idles and sometimes it dont, and when crankin sometime it will with throttle wide open, other times it just pops every once and while.

any ideas????

current jets, 165m, 40p, needle on 3rd notch, ive had the 45 in it and it seems to crank better, this thing is just moody, sometimes its cranks fine with the 40 in.... todays the first time its idled since i dont know when....

Check and re-check for air leaks.

Do you run a cheap aftermarket exhaust? A buddy of mine has a really cheap pipe on his and the quad was fine before he put it on but now it pops constantly and never wants to idle. We put his stock pipe back on and everything was perfect. so if you do you might just wanna try that

That would be jetting chief.

pigpin, try messing with the air screw on the bottom of the carb. Richen it up 1/4 turn at a time till the popping goes away. 3 full turns usually means you need a different size pilot.

no, full curtis sparks x6 exhuast, i think the carb just needs a really good cleaning and rebuild..... and correct pilot jet, from idle to 1/4 throttle is pure crap, but from there out its fine. ill just keep messin with it till i figure it out i reckon....

I think an X6 is too much of a pipe for your 426.

0-1/4 is all your pilot.

yea, i think its a combination of flaot issues and pilot jet problems.....
