next week im ordering tires from rocky mount. atv (unless someplace has em cheaper) and im getting kenda knarly or knarly xc for the rear and kenda pathfinders for the front, and im trying to make my setup more trail friendly so can someone suggest what sizes might work best? im pretty sure that stock size front tires will work pretty good but im not sure about the rear.

thanks for any input

Don't people go bigger than that? Or only for desert riding or something?

The bigger the tire the more HP to turn. I run 20-10-9

I ride about 50% trails/XC and 50% MX and i like my holeshot XCR's for all around riding. They work great for both , i have 21's in the front and 20's in the rear.

Doesn't sound like he's worried about HP too much. He wants a more comfortable ride on the trails.

for now im not worried about hp, any R has enough as it is, and im also asking this cause i got some holeshots last year and i got the stock size but they appear to be bigger than the stockers for some reason.

Yea , that's normal. Aftermarket tires are bigger than stock. I ordered 22 holeshot fronts cause i liked the stock size. I ended up sending them back because they were huge.

Thats not always true. The one thing that is true is that they are rarely the correct size. They can be smaller than advertised too. My 18" turf tames with 5lbs of air in them measure at 16.75" Talk about no ground clearance!
