Looks exactly like a Typhoon. Has anyone seen one of these in person?
Awesome price if they are the same.

i just put one together out of the crate. they have none of the upgrades that the xtreme 125 has. they do not come with the bottom frame brace or the steering stem collar. xtreme has also reinforced the subframe. you get what you buy

I would think that doing the updates myself, to make it on par with a Typhoon, would be cheaper than buying a Typhoon.
I'm assuming that this is possible.
Just looking for opinions.
If it wouldn't be worth it I will just go with a Typhoon.

you can probably do the updates yourself. you would also probably have to buy all the parts from xtreme. also is there any dealer support or are you on your own once you get it. a guy that bought 2 of these off ebay called us this week and wanted to know about setup and upgrades. so he bought from them but called an xtreme dealer for support. i would ask these questions before i purchased one.

Just buy one! I have one, with the money you save you can do it all your self and have money left for more goodies!! It mfg. by the same mfg as extreme! same bike! If you want any goodies call extreme they will take your money weather its a baja, bam-x, or extreme!

According to the pic in the ad, it runs a different motor with manual clutch?!?

So these are The same machine as the Typhoon? How can they be almost $1000 cheaper? I understand that the typhoon has some updates but I can't see a grand worth. I do understand that you will probabaly not get dealer support which means that I wouldn't get a discount on parts or labor if needed. The warranty might be hard to deal with if there are problems. That's were a dealer would come in handy. I'm going to have to check with Costco to see if they have any type of Warranty or return policy that is available.
I normally wouldn't purchase without going through a dealer. This just seems to good of a deal to pass up.
Still on the fence!

I’ve purchased 2 of the Baja Storm 125s for $1,299 each delivered from Costco. The interesting thing is that the frame actually has the Xtreme label applied directly to the Baja Frame. The cover of the manual says Typhoon Sports 125. Besides 50% of the bolts being loose, the machines seem to function well. Not a bad deal…………………..

I just checked out the typoon this weekend and it was a nice bike. There are some minor things that you would need to change , but all in all it is a nice quad. The price was $2199.00 for the 90cc. Now that costco 125cc for $1200.00 has got me rethinking my purchase. My son dont race so i'm not looking for top speed. I'm more interested in the suspension. If it has the same shocks as the extreme typhoon then i will be buying it from costco, and put the $1000.00 i'm saving to any other upgrades and loc-tite:D $1000.00 is alot of savings and you could fix any problem with that money. Heck you could even buy another bike and have double parts and still be around the price of the extreme. Good find Thanks for posting!!

I'm pretty convinced that I'll be going the Costco route. The quads are almost identical. The savings is too great to pass up.

I dont know but I just bought a 2007 Xtreme 90 and a 2007 Xtreme 125 from the main US distrubutor and Co Designer of these machines they have all upgrades and he answers any support needed Also oil cooler on 125 I know forsure and decent carbs were included on both. I got a great deal on the 2 of them shipped together. They were shipped to a terminal here in Central Wisconsin I cant complain I just added fuel after putting wheels and nerfs on along with checking all bolts which were actually all tight (Unbelievavle) I was pretty pleased with these machines only thing I have to do is take care of steering slop which is no big deal

8hp for a 125 :huh

azextreme

I dyno'ed mine the other a day. Two pulls no tuning just a fast baseline # for future mods. It was at 6hp to the wheels.

i really dont see that as ugly, motor is STOCK 125. also i would guess your dyno run was done with stock tires, you would have gotten more with slicks or flat track tires. when you add a cam, big time porting higher compression piston you can tripple that 6hp figure. billy holt has a 125 typhoon motor that is making right at 19hp, just waiting on a few parts so the he can add the clutch set up the race 125 hondas run, you know the one that is not really an auto clutch but a manual just without the clutch levver. also i saw on another forum where there will be a typhoon 125 running the next national at glen helen.

Is that 19 @ the countershaft or the wheels??

azextreme

ya and also that was in 2nd gear and stock tires.

I'd like to see a fully built one run, I've only seen them in basic stock form. I thought the 125's put out more than that stock but I guess looking at the pit bikes that's about right. Any aftermarket arms out for them yet? Those front lower shock mounts scare me.

markvette
03-15-2007, 10:45 PM
yes david carter at dc motorsports has new a-arms and the shock mount is moved to the top. billy is working on one but his 2 stroke business is still so strong he barely has time to work on the typhoon.

So texzin, did your Baja storm come in yet? I'm curious to how you like it. I was looking at their website and my son got totally fired up over it. Now he wants to switch his yamaha raptor 80 for one.

Yes Louie
My Son has been riding on the Baja for about 2 weeks now.

As I put it together I went over every bolt ........I did not find any that needed tightening, but I also thread locked bolts at this time.

I also ordered upgrades from Xtreme....Fast shipping...Super nice ppl.

So how does the suspension feel? Does the motor seem to push the bike O.K. ? It looks so much like the extreme typhoon, or the BAMX typhoon that they may be the same bike.

Texzin
04-08-2007, 11:54 AM
It is the same bike..................I bought the Baja for a project..........Runs great out of box......with mods.......this bike could do alot. suspension is a little lacking, a little stiff and rebound is slow, but for 1200.00........this is a good place to start a build and there is after market supported upgrade parts.

So what more are you going to do to it? Are you going to set it up for racing or just upgrade it a little?

Texzin
04-09-2007, 09:05 AM
My son has never raced.......Not saying he won't. I will be ready if he decides he wants to race.......My son and I do a lot of trail riding. I ride a raptor 700r and I'm trying to build a bike for my son that can keep up.

So to how much moding I am going to do on the bike......I will quit when my wife Kicks me out.

I am looking for a frame.......so I can start from scratch.....I am gona gusit the frame. There is some good upgrades on the market now.........But I am hoping for more by the time I get heavy into the build.
