Since there are so many different nerf bars and heel guards available from AC, Pro Armor, PRM, IMS, DG, etc. post a picture of your quad and tell us what you like/dislike about them.

(I am also trying to figure out what ones I want to get for my 400EX so pictures of those is especially appreciated!)

If money were no object, I would buy IMS/Roll for sure. They are the best quality and look the best too IMO but are quite expensive in comparison to AC or Pro Armor.

Ok I have another good upgrade for my quad!

First I ditched the AC nerfs, JUNK in my mind!! They bent easy and I just didn't feel safe on them.

Second, I did some research on the nerfs I picked up. I decided to go with Extreme Fabrication nerf bars.

I called up the company an spoke to the owner and grilled him on his product. Well after talking with him for awhile, It comes out that he's been making nerfs and ATV products since the late 90's.

My last question to him was. How much are your nerfs with heal guards. He quoted me a price of $249.00 plus $20.00 for shipping. Not a bad deal if you ask me!

I knew a little bit about these nerfs because there are 2 AZ racers running them now and I got the chance to check them out before buying.

Well Here are my new nerfs.

I had AC pro pegs with heel guards

Pros: Look good. never broke

Cons: Once the pegs are wore out you have to buy new, hard mounting. Mud collected bad

Now I have Pro armor with heel guards

Pros: replacible pegs. more room I feel

Cons: I don't know any yet.

Has anyone seen the new Pro-armor setup. Its just like the IMS/Roll setup. They have their own pegs which are somethign like $130, then you can buy the heel gaurds separately as well as the nerfs separately. As soon as they become available Im buying some. You can check them out on their website. Blingstar also sells a setup like this. The Notorious P.E.G. catchy aint it.

I saw the new Pro Armor "Powergrip" setup in one of this month's quad magazines and looked at it online too. I really like the design and would buy them except they are only available for the 450R. This is why I asked in another thread if 450R nerfs/pegs/heel guards will fit on a 400EX, and I have received mixed responses so far. I guess I should call Pro Armor and ask them if they'll work.

That is the exact set up I want to go with on my trx450r. I like the ims/roll set up but not about to spend that much money because I dont have that much or else I would have them on my quad. I really dislike the ac pro peg nerf bars because they have mounting issues, The pro peg part gets loose over time and bends downwards and is very hard to keep from being loose even with screws put through it and my heel hits the back heel guard because it is so close. I also dont like it because mud collects bad and the peg is way too low. I would personally get the raths if i had the money or ims/roll.

couple pics of my PA's.
Question though, whats the advantage of the separate nerf/heel?

i've always wondered what is the reason for nerf bars...i know in racing it keeps another quads tire from getting in between urs and hitting ur leg or something.......is that the only reason for them....i've never used them b4 on any of my quads....i was just wondering....i do want some of those ims/roll pegs though!...and heel guards since the stock guards will not work with them

The first time your foot slips off the front of your peg and you run your leg over you'll wish you had a set. They will save you lofty medical bills. I've seen and heard horror stories of serious injuries that could have been avoided if a quad had nerf bars. It was the very first thing I installed on mine. Money well spent.
