First charge for lg 9900????

Just got the new LG enV(9900) tonight and they come with half a charge on the battery. Do you charge the phone fully with the phone off for the first charge or do you wait till the battery completely dies and then charge it fully?

with my motorola they told me to let it completely die then charge it fully.

with the env they say to charge it every night. turn it OFF and charge it, leaving it on will overheat the battery and it will lose power.

charge it from its current state. luckily, todays lithium ion and nickle metal hydride batterys do not retain memories like those from just a few short years ago.
