hey everyone i have a 06 450r, and i was woundering if any of you out thier have tryed to put a oil cooler on this bike, i thought the 04/ 05 came with oil coolers but i dont remeber, i was just wondering because it might but more time in between oil changes, and ultimatly make the motor last longer thanks!

the oil cooler was removed because they added a larger radiator, so it wasn't necessary.

yea the 06 was able to cool good enough to take the oil cooler off but CT racing for there 06 trx e-start added a oil cooler to there setup for the baja 1000 which they won :)

the lines went threw the oil filter cap.

Just aboout every 06/07 TRX I see that races desert has a oil cooler on it. They all replace the cover for the oil cooler with a new one that has the lines plumbed into it. I have no idea who actually makes it, I would try and call CT racing and see if they know.

I would not lengthen your time between oil changes, with or without a cooler I would still change it at the same interval. (Oil is cheap, motors are not.) Cooler oil can only help the life of the motor though.

i know that FRANKY G was selling one for the 05s you could probably get it cheap from him and experiment with it and plum some lines

One of the radiator companies, I can't remember if it is Fluidyne or PWR, is making a radiator with an oil cooler made into it for the 06 models. They said it could take as much as 45 degrees off the oil temp. Look on their websites and it should have more info. I looked at them at the dealer show, but can't remember all the details.

Jagg makes them for the dirtbike. I'm shure that kit could be used on the 06-07 TRX.
