Dude I know wants to buy a 300ex. I keep telling him even though its cheaper the 400ex offers more potential, more power, and he will not be happy. He thinks like me with the reverse, because we live in a very hilly and mountain/swampy area so one w/o reverse wouldn't do him good.

After buying my 400 I wouldn't mind a 450r, but for the kind of riding I do the 400 is perfect because i live in the mountains so a sport quad w/o reverse wouldnt serve me.

i had a 300ex, was riding it to its full potential. i needed something bigger, as i am 6'1" tall and the 300 was cramped. i came across a great deal on a 400, through this site actually. i ride in very hilly, mountainous terrain as well and my 400 does not have reverse. you learn to do without after a while, i very rarely actually have to get off my bike to turn around. you learn that you can always find a spot to turn around at, always.

you don't really need reverse, as stated you can almost ALWAYS find a spot to turn around, you will definatly learn to live w/o reverse

I know what you guys are sayin about whippin it around and stuff, but it makes it that much better REVERSING out of the basement.

I just know my friend is gonna be sad he got the 300. Especially when we all go out riding, me on my 400, my other bud on the 450r, and him on his 300. Friend of mine a long time ago had a 300ex and going from that to this is like night and day. But he wont listen. :(

Once you have reverse you can't live with out it. It's bailed me out several times. It also makes loading and unloading my quad off my trailer a breeze.

I have both a 300ex and 400ex, can't go wrong with either but the 400ex is alot faster... I bought both of them for reliability, both bikes are really tuff. 300 is an excellent beginer bike for sure but it's harder to keep up to most of the people I go with driving the 300...lol

affordability(lots of them for sale), more power, cheap upgrades, and reliability. I am a 16 year old who works a minimum wage job who needs to have something with all these properties so I can ride and not wrench on it and spend money on it all the time.

i luv my 400 i bought it back in 2000 so i really didnt have a choice too get a 450r but any how i was always a tall kid i am 6'2 "and a 300 is way too small for me.but dont let a 300 fool u they also have can have some power with some work done.my buddys 300 is pretty mean.my other buddy bought an older 300ex and bought the older atc350x motor and put it in and bored it out to a 416 or 419 some think like that but it hauled a**..

we rode the quad and we liked the power so we traded a 4mil banshee for it

Reliability, relatively low maint., Ridability you can ride this thing anywhere and anyway and be happy unlike my 450R or my Banshee that require a whole lot of clutch work and speed. I love the 400ex I think that I will always own a 400ex as one of my rides.
