Im looking into switching up to xc this year. i have done mx, and all that, but i got a pred, and now want to do something more fun.... I live near Unidilla, and i know that we have a local series around here, that they let locals run...I want to know what my pred is going to need, I m confident that my wheelers suspension will be able to handle it, i just want to know what else. Also anyone got any idea on how to make headlight covers, while keeping the headlights inside?

Headlight covers some people take them out. I see rath has some awesome headlight inserts. Some people I see just use duct tape.:p

Just make sure you have a belly skid and swingarm skid and go out and have some fun.:)

thanks, anyone else got any ideas, or feedback on what i will need, or just advice... i want to know if with skidplates and more aggressive tires, if i will be able to do well. i have a dasa exhaust on the way, with kand n air filter, and one of my buddies is going to help jet it, but i want to know if there is anything else i should do?

GNCC and harescrambles are more about man than machine, in my opinion. You need to be in top physical shape to be able to run hard for 2 hours.

do you have to race in the unlimited class because your over 450cc?

The limit for GNCC is 520.

did not know that. i remember some guy on here said he had to like de-bore his polaris. new smaller cylinder so he could race 450. maybe it was an old rule or mx.

Yeah, the biggest you can be at a GNC national is 450. I believe they made kits that made the Predator legal.

there is a local series here too, that has an open class, but i know my friend raced his raptor there last year. maybe theres no limits, idk....have to look into it...

you will be fine engine wise with the predator in a gncc.

i would also get a good set of nerfs if you dont already have them(cant tell from the pic), and a set of razrs or razr2s out back, and a set of razr2s up front. if you want to cough up the cash get a set of beadlocks in the back. otherwise your probably good to go. im thinking im gonna do some gncc racing this yr as well. im going to be at the unadilla race and some of the otherones that aren't too far away from me

Engine CC limits only apply to the Pro Class and some Ute clases, the rest of the Clases are Open C but divided by Age, this is my 3rd Season on XC Racing and ive run 4 GNCCs over the past 2, im here for any questions also, dont be afraid 2 ask......but as stated before it takes alot of endurance 2 throw a Quad around for 2 Hours and the most critical add ons would have to be Skids and a good set of tires

yea, i was thinking about buying some kendas, and i have pro armor nerfs, u cant see in the pic, and i know im putting a bigger grab bar on there, from experience. Anyways, is my bumper ok for for gncc, or should i get another one, and i like the kenda hc s , anything else? what should i expect or work on, or do to the wheeler...

bumper is good for xc. i recomend razr 2's. there beastly. and alot of people will say use wd-40 on your plastic so mud doesnt stick so badly. you could use some powermadd extenders, skid plates, and if you use a camel pack, go like 50-50 gatorade/water.

ok, you guys got me going on this, i ve been working on the quad all day lol.... i have another set of powermadds, and i have the extenders, and tires are coming, i went with the razr 2s like u guys said, i appreciate everything....

also, im confidents my shocks are good for the woods, what would you say the best shock setting for this would be, and how do u adjust fox shox?

CRich[814]

probably stock settings would be the best. do you have an extra set of powermadds you want to get rid of?

Get yourself a good set of skid plates and some lock tite. Go over your entire quad and check all your bolts and make sure they are tight. As far as shock settings. You want them a little soft but its really hard to tell someone how they should be. You just need to set them and ride some. Then change a setting and ride, if you like it better then go that direction, if not change your settings the other way.
