I have 20 inch klaws on my 300ex and it is time for a new chain and sprockets. Right now I am running 13/36 but I had some issues geting the chain to fit. I was just wondering what gearing most of you guys run with your 20's?

ps I have a new 38t rear now that came with the bike should I run 14/38 and can I keep the case saver in if I do?

Is your motor mostly stock? (no major engine work?)

If so 14/38 Should be perfect.

But, it depends on the type of riding you do. If you do a lot of fire roads, etc.. where you top out, you may want slightly higher, but it wil hurt you on the hills.

For all around.. 14/38 should be about perfect. That's geared 2% higher than where you are now. (almost stock gearing).

13/36 on 20's is geared 4% lower than stock on 22's. (53mph)
14/38 on 20's is 2% lower than stock.(54mph)
14/36 on 20's would be 3% higher than stock. (57mph)

I use 15/37 great gearing w/better top end...the 300ex's are geared so low stock... You just have to shave your chain guard with a grinder a bit...
