I bought an 05 450r today. Moving up from my 426ex. Ill hopefully have pictures up in a couple days.

Is anyone selling those service manuals on cd? I have one for my ex, and it would be nice to have one for the 450r as well.

Im really excited about it though. I havnt really been able to ride it, except for up and down the road, due to the bad weather. Im hitting up the indoor track next weekend though. I cant wait. Is there anything I need to look out for on the 450r, compared to my 400?

ya man the r is one of the best bikes made, you made the right choice in getting one, but i have to say that the 400ex is better in the trails. But, the r isnt far behind. Its a beast

keep good oil in it. change it like it your job. check the valves often, keep in eye on your middle frame rail. don't give it gas when you start it and you'll be fine. Also weak stock tie-rods.

It has only used Honda Synthetic, I change it every few practices. The Frame is gusseted. Tie rods are aftermarket. I'll have to look at the manual to learn to check the valves sometime.

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader....but this is the COMPLETE manual.

Also...I wrote up this Valve Adjustment HOW-TO complete with pictures, detailed instructions, and tips/tricks.

Good luck, and enjoy your new R!
