I was in the process of inspecting my cam chain tensioner, but I cannot turn that screw. It is just too stiff. I sprayed some lube on it to maybe loosen it. Any ideas?

maybe its out of adjustment, will it move in the other direction?

I cant get it to move either way. I have it soaking in some wd-40, hopefully that will loosen it up.

Did you take it out of the engine? it takes a very small screw driver, its spring loaded so it should only turn backward...

Yea you'll need a small flathead to get in there. Remember the thing around the screw looks like a screw also, but its just there to hold a special flathead looking key that's supposed to keep the tensioner set in the retracted position. Maybe thats what you were trying to turn..:ermm:

I got it, I just needed to clamp it in the vice so I could get a good turn on the screw. The part that didn't want to come out was the outer screw, not the inner thing that turns.

Thanks
