Just bought an 1995 Ford F250 7.3L powerstroke turbo diesel with an 5 speed Manual transmission. Problem I am having is when I start the truck sometimes, when you turn the key wait for the light to go out to start it. I push in the clutch in neutral turn the key, and it has a clicking sound on the passenger side under the hood, it's when the key is turned and you push in and out the clutch to make that noise. Check the batteries, Replaced the Starter, alternator, and the solidnoid on the fender wall. I am just stumped at this point. :huh

does it do it all the time? need a little more info. my f250 makes a click like that when i turn the key and after i have it cranked for a second then it will got away. its somethin for the glowplugs. and to the man that thinks chevy is just bad *** . their not , and their not built like a rock either, they are built like a clump of clay the break apart over time. plus every company has a few odd ball trucks with alot of problems. my f250 is an 87 with the 6.9 diesel with 400,000 miles on stock engine , tranny, rear and front end , and everything else besides starter, oil,oil filter, fuel filter, battery, some belts and injectors and maybe a few more small parts. it was also driven hard pulled large loads all of its life and still dominates. just thought i would let u know . but anyways let me know if it does it all the time or just startup or w/e . their great trucks. i cant wait to get my new f250.

I think I'll second that, pretty common problem...

If you want to reassure yourself that it is indeed the glow plug relay just disconnect the small wires, they are what activates it

for the price of a GPR and how often they go out anyways, your best off the just replace it...pop the plastic cover off that says 7.3 turbo diesel and its on the lower left corner of your facing the bumper...very easy to change, you may have to take off the other cover also which is 3 7/16 bolts...its an easy job.
