well we had a great mud run,./ i mean race today. it would prove to be a battle of the mud with lots of ruts ans washouts. my goggles would last all of 2 seconds before i had to take them off after i got hosed with a spray of mud slime:( the first lap was not very fast as everybody was getting stuck and trying to pick the right lines. riders started dropping off left and right do to fatique, breakdown or just plain tired of mud and water. it would get faster in some areas when the lappers were out of the way and i could then makeup for lost time being stuck.! my bike died less than a mile left to go and would get passed by aj and byran hulsey. hulsey rode a praire that would prove to be a good choice for todays weather. in the end several a arms, axles, tie rods and motors would break. the parking lot ended up being a mud fest as we would leave. im sure there will be some great pics and video to come. thanks to all of you that helped lift, push, tug and change gear for us today. good luck to the bike guys tomorrow!

If you know of anyone who is planning on going to the bike race on sunday, it is CANCELED. So pass the word on if possible in time so that no makes a wasted trip.

Oh man that was an awesome time, it was my first race and I ended up getting 6th in c vet which I am pretty happy about. Man those creek crossings were deep, and the ruts were crazy. I knew it was gonna be bad when a tractor had to pull people into the parking lot. I went to pull my tearoff off of my goggles the first lap and it ripped my whole rolloff system to shreds so I went without goggle the whole rest of the race. Thanks to everyone for pointing the way and helpin my *** get unstuck

What a Race!!! Thanks to all the volunteers!!! We could not have got through or got home without ya. Thanks to Josh W. for working your tail off at the creek. That was a nasty section that you were able to keep running smooth.

Yea I can imagine the mess it was. Just glad no one was hurt in this. Heard alot of them quit which was probably a good idea. Hopefully Kahoka will be sunny.

Could one of you's write a short story about the race and send it to me with you full name at the end. I will then forward it to atvracing extra for them to put it in the next issue. If I can get more than one story I can also send in something to another amg with some pictures. With the coverage, it helps me get more sponsors for you guys.

I am glad that I was at home on this one. I have been there and done that many times before. The next thing that you will hear is that we tore up the place to much and they will not do atv's next year.
Good job for all of the ones that made an effort to race. And a better job to all that made more than 1 lap. Looks like you all had a good time.

Sounds good. I kind of have an idea in my mind on how I think I would start, and they better not give me any crap for the way I think it would work for me, or I'm going to get my money back. I think Zac, Heath and I are following Duane and Michael down to Florida this weekend. Its going to be a long trip down there.

Stumpleg- you have the rekluse don't you? How well does it hold up under conditions like lake creek? I want to get one with this new start but I don't want to burn up my clutch whenever it is muddy. By the way if they don't let you start however you want then someone should kick their *** for not recognizing a possible problem. Good luck down in florida.

Yep, I have a Rekluse. It works great in dry muddy conditions, but I might be cautious running in conditons like last weekend. Mine stayed in the garage, so I did not run down there. I have a new z-start pro waiting to be put in, so I'm sure it will be a change from this one. Either way, you can't go wrong.

I am going to run no matter what. Not everybody started the same, so if I don't, I don't see a problem.

I have one in my 450r and rode 2 laps at Lake Creek. I didn't have a problem with mine, but I haven't taken it apart to check it either. I rode a little around the house after I washed the quad and it seemed fine then.

Stumpleg I don't see a problem with making a change for you at the start. I don't think a promoter will say anything and if a riders says anything I think the rest of us will deal with them. If you have a problem before I get back in May let me know. Thanks

I worked on my clutch a couple days before the race and and took out the smaller fiber on the inside with the 2 washers and put ina new full size fiber. I broke all of the friction pads off of that 1 new plate. That was all it took. i took out the clutch on Monday and put a new stocker in. Congrats to everyone that finished that race. At least I didn't end up in the emergecyroom like after Brooks last year.

That race was wild. I am really really glad I was not racing....although after the race was over I felt as if I had raced. So many people were getting stuck all the way from pros to beg class. Too bad the conditions were so bad. The Pro class was stacked with talent and it would have been a great race to watch if the conditions were better. Later, Josh W
