in the carb i forgot the name of it but the cover that i have to take off before getting to the pilot jet and main jet the screws are old on it and when i turn the screwdriver it just strips the screw what can i do if each of the four screws are pretty much stripped i need some time of solution so i dont have to get a new carb cause thats not gonna happen

i got a thing from sears made by craftsman that is suppose to take out stripped screws, i used it twice and hasnt worked, but you might have better luck. you may just use a drill and drill off the head of the stripped screw and use vise grips to back out the stud. this is a little risky. if you do drill be sure and make sure no metal shavings are in the carb i used a carb cleaner for mine that will help force out any impurities and for a 2000 it wont be a bad idea. Now that i think about it try using the vise grips on the head of the screw it probablly wont work but it is worth a try.
