i think id look weird with a thumb throttle on a bike. if i had a wheeler, id put a twist on it too. i cant even ride my recon anymore without having to get really used to the throttle. you forgot finger throttles, and a few guys here run those. here it is. there like off a jet ski.

twists are hard to control cause u turn the bars alot more unlike on a bike u lean more like when u turn to the left it will just be hard to control

i like em they way they come. it is hard to ride a quad with a twist IMO, but i also couldn't imagine riding a bike with a thumb.

I can ride with both, just as good as each other. I feel more "powerful" with a twist, I don't know why. I still prefer thumb.

id say thumb, buy i agree with underpowered, twists are right for bikes and thumbs right for quads(most of the time)

Twists go on anything I own, thumb is good for play riding but I cant go to a mx track and ride a thumb throttle I'm more smooth with a twist by far.

ive found a lot of people dont like twist just becuse they dont take the time to get used to them and wreck or somthing. in a lot of situations i liked the twist more than a thumb. both have goods and bads.

i ran a twist on my first 3 quads but run a thumb throttle now on my yfz. i found that the harder and longer i rode, the more pumped up my forearm got and in a race that killed me. with a thumb throttle i can work past the arm pump which is more in my hand ranther than my entire forearm. thats the only reason i dont run a twist now.

I like thumb throttle. I don't think I would like to get a twist. I've rode a coupe of bikes with a twist and to tell you the truth I wasn't very happy with it but might have just been I wasn't used to it.

On a quad I feel a lot more confident and can ride more aggressively with a thumb throttle. I feel "handicapped" if I ride with a twist on a quad even though I am well familiar with them.

On a bike, twists are the only way to go. The nature of the movements you normally do on bikes/quads is what influences what I am most comfortable with using.

Where did you get that pic of my finger throttle? I also run one on my TRX. I will not run anything else!

I can not stand a thumb throttle. Ever since I ran the High Point National quite a few years ago on my 90 I have run a twist since then. My thumb would get so tired and I was using everything but my thumb. I ended up losing 3 positions. I feel so comfortable with a twist. I don't know if it is because I have raced bikes for all but 3 years of my life. The twist is kind of awkward in a tight right handed turn but it does not effect me. I think even if my thumb was strong enough to run the thumb I think I would still be faster with a twist. It might just be in my blood to run a twist because that is what my dad used when he raced.

Theres a couple different kinds of twists. I for one, absolutely HATE anything that takes more then a 1/4 turn to go wide open. This includes every one of the motion pro twist conversion kits, the vortex, turbo, cr style, etc. I started running an oldschool Magura 1/4 turn and Its seriously one of the best control upgrades I've ever done. It took a little bit to get use to, but after that it was just perfect. I actually switch it, that particular one back and fourth between whatever I'm going to be riding the most. :D

Can't get used to twists on quads so I'd have to say thumb throttle. My friend had a twist on his 416ex and it was quite an interesting experience.. almost went off a cliff...
