so the starter doesn't spin the motor over? sounds like a dead battery to me. charge it or, if you don't have a charger, just tow start it behind a car or other wheeler

Do the lights come on? Neutral light? If they don't, change fuse and check grounds, charge battery, or replace it.

put a charger on the battery and try, my 400ex has a **** battery, the lights work and everything but if the battery isnt fully charged the starter wont work

That happened to a buddy of mine. It turned out that the positive cable on the battery was loose. So I would say check your battery connections and snug them down. It wouldn't hurt to clean of you terminals while your at it either.

Maybe the starter is shot.

Check the terminals on the battery that they're tight and not corroded. It probably wouldn't hurt to take them off anyway and scuff them up a little with some emory cloth.

To me, it sounds like a weak battery. Just enough to turn the lights on but not enough to turn the engine over.

Start with cleaning all the connections to the battery and go from there.

check your fuse or you could have a dead battery if the battery is dead you could charge it or boost it off with jumping cables or push it off put it in second gear hold in the clutch get it at a good speed and pop the clutch

i had the same exact problem the red connection in your battery problem has dirt in between it just take all the connections off in the right order the manual tells you to and clean all the connections and you'll be good as new
