If you go with 2-4 you have the option of widening or narrowing the front end by flipping the wheels, 3-3 your stuck. Also most folks run 19x6x10 fron tires instead of 18"

Also check www.recreationtires.com for the best deal on wheel/tire combos. Then call to order and ask them to reduce shipping and they usually cut it in half, great people.

Before you buy anything make sure you understand the rules where you are racing. You may be stuck with using the 3/3 since you are not allowed to make the quad wider in the 50 limited class. The DRR was wide enough to use the 2/4 but at that time i think they were the only ones that were that wide stock.

We have been running the stock fronts and 16" snowhog rears that are the 2+4 offset. I still am not decided on the the tall skinny fronts. I was told and have even seen that they like to abruptly turn yanking the handlebars. One of my sons friends hit the wall on his new DRX after that happened. I do see alot of the minis running steering stabilizers and that met help with the bigger tires.

I guess the question that i am asking is ...In the 50cc limited class, what are you guys running...can you run the 2n+4n or will i have to go with the 3b+3n....The stock measured to be 2.5+3.5,,,i realy didnt want to go shallower but didnt want him to get DQ for running 1/2in too wide...thanks for all your help

I would just keep teh stock wheel and just get the snowhogs, but i wanted him to have some new lightweight shinny wheels...

It is hard to answer your question unless someone is running the same make of quad as you. I see in your sig that you are running a kymco mongoose 50. you need to figure out if the quad would be wider than stock if you put the 2/4 on. If so you would have to run the 3/3. Looking at the spec's/picture I found of an 05 mongoose http://www.lifecyclemotorcycles.com/new_vehicle_detail.asp?veh=18623& it says it is 35" wide stock. A 1/2" may not be an issue at local races but if he happens to go win or do well in a national race it might be an issue. The picture looks like the same stock wheels that came on my 03 DRR and we ran 2/4 w/o any problem but I can't be sure from the picture.

The Hogs on the front will be rough riding and hard to handle. Been there done that! I myself have found out that a taller narrower tire up front is better. He likes the 21" on a 10" wheel in the front. We even run a 22" on there right now. He only run this tire combo at 1 National. After the race He said it handled like a dream. It was easier to to steer in the woods.

Just a thought.:D

Kyle raced these stock E-Ton fronts (Maxxis m939) for four years and loved them.

We used them for two years in the 50 stock and two years in the 70 production

We're going to try the tall skinny Holeshots on the 90

I wouldn't recommend the snowhogs for the front either. You need a rounded tire up front for handling. 19x6x10 in holeshot or razr will yield much better handling. And a steering stabilizer makes a huge improvement for the little guys and keeps the bars from getting ripped out of their hands.

I would check with your district but what I’m getting out of the rule book (chapter six) there is no more limited class. It looks like two stock classes and one production class in the 50‘s. If you run production class you can run what you want.

I know here in D5 they adopted the 50 production class.

10-4 buddy your right I found it in the supplemental rules. Everything you need to know is in this link.

Wish I could help ya I just sold Kyle’s old nurfs, wheels and tires to a dude in Florida, actually from this site.

Good luck, and hope the little guy likes it. Kyle’s driving me crazy this will be his 5th year, and he can’t wait to get to the track to see all his track buddies and start racing.

the 19x6x10 set up works well but isn't legal for the limited class...........

I thought the rumor was the atva had pretty much done away with the "limited" class?
