03' axle same as 05'?

mmm kinda. As far as bearings and all the important things go yes it will fit. The 05 axle has a shorter thread length than the 03 for the axle nuts. You will have to get new axle nuts or modify the ones you have. Unless the 03 axle comes with them. Then your all set. The 05 and later nuts have a cap that wont thread all the way without cutting it off.
