A-Arms Swapping around, 400EX, 250X, 300EX

I have a 250X, and NEED a wider stance up front.... I'm looking into offset rims, and will probably get some, but I'm curious to what Honda A-arms will also fit a 250X...

BTW, I got my clutch thing figured out... the fiber discs were deteriorated after 12 years in a crate. $90 bucks later, and Barnett Dirt Digger installed, It's a wheelie machine!!!!

250r or 400ex a arms will work you can also make it so u can use 400ex shocks with a lowering kit. Just a couple of options

Ok, if I use 250R or 400ex shocks, what shocks CAN I use? I've now read somewhere, that using 250R arms, with 250X shocks will leave my front end lower..... and to fix it to use the shock lowering kit.

What other options are there?

You can use 400ex a-arms, (you need 400ex tie rods also) and 400ex shocks, but you need to relocate the top shock mount. You can do this buy making a mount yourself, or buying one from Countypark, snotme80, or a place called ATV Racing sells a weld on kit. Countypark and snotme80 are both members on this board and they both sell bolt on kits. You could use 400ex a-arms and 250R shocks, the 250R shocks are a little shorter so you might not have to use the bracket. On my quad I didnt have to use the bracket because I used 250R shocks, I just adjusted the preload. You may lose like a half inch of travel, but thats it. Here is a pic of my set up-

what im still trying to figure out is just how much the 400 arms widen the front of your quad? anyone know ? i want to know either how much wider it will make it(2 or 3 inches?) or how wide it is over all with the 400 arms i would like to know both. if you could tell me that would be great! thanks!

Its not that much wider at all, maybe an inch wider on each side im thinking, look at this pic its about the same as the rear now-

i have a 1987 250x
i have 400ex nerf bars...custom cut
hmf pipe
uni filter
some custom paint work done to it
i wan to get the a-arms and shocks soo and get them on
soon as i do i'll post a pic
and thinking of putting on a big bore kit
other than that the quad is in great shape
that and i replaced every seal and bearing on it and renthal bars
