I have a 2006 polaris outlaw and because I can never sit still and leave something alone, I am thinking of making a hybrid! I am plenty satisfied with the suspention and handling of the quad but the motor just does not do it for me. I have the 500 model and am looking for more power. I want a motor that has a powerbend that is moto-x friendly. I want the power band to be more bottom and middle- minded more than top end- minded. Any body have any sugestions? I want this to be a sick quad!

personally I love the fact that it is so smooth even on the hardest landings. I am not looking to race this thing (that is what I have my CRF250 for). I am going to take it to the track sometimes but just to screw around. This quad's real place will be in the woods and on the trails. Anyone got any ideas for a motor?

Any other engines (besides the one that it has now) would have a much bigger power output than the 500? Does anyone know the stock h.p rating for the 500 motor?

I've got a great idea.......

How about a KTM 525 motor.:blah: MUCH more power than the 500cc Fuji motor.

What about a CRF450 Outlaw? That would make great power.

If your running trails i think you should rund the CRF450X motor, or the WR450F motor. Those would be a little bit more trail friendly then the CRF/R or the YZF. The offroad version motors have wider ratio gearing, a heavier flywheel, lighting capabilities, and electric start. Another motor that i think would be sick in a quad frame for off road would be a XR650R. The XR motor would make a crazy off road quad and is reliable as can be.
