View Full Version : ATVrider.com ride dates for Breezewood

Pappy
02-20-2007, 07:08 PM
Dan would like to offer atvrider.com members discounts this season and we need to schedule the dates for group rides etc. All dates are open, even during the big event weekends so input from you guys would be helpful.

I would like to have atleast 3 dedicated dates that are seperate from the big weekends so that more members can have more track time and get more of the group thing happening(thats group riding not...well...lol)

Post up some dates or opinions! I am sure we can get some good door prizes together, gate discounts, pig roast etc. Let me hear what ya want and when!

Ya'll get these dates set.I am back to working every other Saturday and sometimes 2 in a row.I'll need to know which ones I need to trade to go to Breezewood :D

I live in eastern Indiana so anydate is good with me. I am just jumping in for the subscription.:) I would love to come out there once. Looks like a blast.

BTW is there any trails we can ride? Just wondering if a ute would be fun there.

Pappy
02-20-2007, 07:28 PM
no trails yet, its hard enough getting permits for the mx tracks. BUT, about 45 minutes up the road is another riding area that is ALL trails and is a UTE heaven! So if you made the trip, you could enjoy the good times at BOG and still have an area fairly close to spend a day or two having a blast on your UTE.

I would bring my 400ex and my KQ. I am just not very good at MX. Don't know how long I would last out there...:o I am a XC guy. I prefer to keep my wheels on the ground lol.

I had alot of XC riders come this season to get seat time on the MX track, not one of them said anything negative after doing it! Most of them have expressed how much faster in the woods they have become since riding MX regularly even though they do not jump anything!!!!!

I wish I lived closer, BPG looks like a fun place to ride. I'm an XC guy too but I love to ride or race MX any chance I get, I think it helps me out a whole lot.:macho

I ride at the Motoplex maybe once a month and It helps me out. But the jumps are small. I have never been to a nice bigger type track. I CAN"T WAIT TO...Hope to see you all there sometime this summer:)

Deffinately! Its such a big place that there is a lot of berms. Not every berm is the same unlike most tracks. You have to find the fastest way through every different kind of berm. I think riding a BPG helped my corner speed.

I will be at BPG in march first chance i get.

I agree with Kenny, riding at BPG will help any XC rider. Most XC races I go too have a MX track incorporated into the loop. Plus a little air time never hurt anybody.:D I usually spend a couple days at Breezewood during the year and always have a great time. As long as the ride dates don't interfere with a national I'll be there. Plus the food is worth the trip!

Could we have the pig roasts etc on the holidays then have a regular ride once a month? Have everyone tell them the usernames ahead of time just like the group ride back in 2004 or 05 was at Rausch. Then we all know whos members and who's not at the holiday rides, specially with all the people out there its nice to find some members to ride with. :)

i would say one in late april when things dry out some, maybe one the week before memorial day to grab attention for the race. sometime in june but not the 16th/17th because the atv nationals are in pa. and a couple in the fall when it starts cooling off some. just my .02

I like the late April idea for the 1st ride. The weekends of Apr 21st & 22nd or Apr 28th & 29th would be good ones.

I'll try to make it any time they get scheduled. Are you a member if your just on the site or do you need to get the ATV RIDER PATRON in your user name?

Either way I'm in.

There's a few open weeks at the end of July that Dan doesn't have an event planned.

Maybe I should just look for work out by BPG. It would save some driving time back and forth.:p

I agree try not and make them on the dates that Nationals and the WPSA are on.

I dont mind missing local races to come up to BPG and ride with the members.

I also like the idea of writing down the usernames of the people that show up. I remember last year when I met Josh and Doober. I will hopefully make it out there more than twice.

Its been a long time to decide what to get , not to mention paying for this kind of unit. The great news is that we didn't buy it to have it sit in the driveway. Now we need to go riding all the time  to justfy the purchase. Also to keep the girls happy we can leave our toys @ home & play campers if we like:rolleyes:

Glad to see everyone is excited to get out here and ride. I'm looking forward to having the members get together for a great day or weekend of riding. I would prefer to have the event seperate from any of the holiday events to allow us to concentrate more on everybody here as a group. I'm willing to offer discounts $10 off of daily or weekend rate, along with providing a cook-out style lunch for members and their family. I'll also work on contacting vendors to get door prizes.

Atvriders.com and all the members have done alot for the park by spreading the word and helping to get so many riders here each weekend. I appreciate everyones support and look forward to continually improving this park for everyones enjoyment.

Someone suggested the last weekend in April and I'm thinking that would be a great time, weather and temperature wise. Can someone check the race schedules and see if that works ????

Pappy
02-22-2007, 04:51 PM
april 28th-29th is the GNC at Birchcreek and the GNCC at Lorettas and a WPSA

may 5th -6th looks wide open

02-23-2007, 04:10 AM
Pappy April 8th is Easter so that may be tough for some people to pull off. Also May 5th is a District 6 mx points series race at Atco, NJ along with a PA State Harescramble at Foot of the Mountain on 5/6 I thnk it is going to be tough to find a weekend that does not have any races that are important to someone. Most everyone I know races mx in D6 so they won't skip the D6 mx points races to go to BPG. I'm sure there will be more than one date for atvriders at bpg this season so just pick some dates. Maybe one in the spring, one in the summer, and one in the fall and everyone can try to make at least one of the dates.

I see that the weekend of May 20th does not have any nat's or WPSA, no d6 mx points races. There is a D7 mx race at Wolfmans & a PA St HS race at Evansville though? Maybe that would work if it not too close to the Memorial Day weekend stuff @ BPG???

My vote is for either Apr 21st/22nd or 28th/29th.

Can you set up a poll so we can see when most people are available and go from there???

dan harris
02-23-2007, 06:08 AM
May 5th and 6th are good with me, so is april 7th and 8th.

Lets keep it a 2 day event for anyone that can't make it on one of the days.

Also looking for some ideas on riding games for the quads.

This picture is from our memorial day barrell pushing race. We've also used the barrell as a ball for our quad soccer game??

dan harris
02-23-2007, 06:16 AM
I think your right, its going to be hard finding a weekend with nothing going on.

Forgot all about Easter being in there !?!

I think the May 5th and 6th is still a good date, Atco is pretty far away from breezewood, and the harescramble at foot of the mountain shouldn't conflict too bad considering we are a MX park.

I don't want to compete against Wolf Mans on the weekend of may 20th, They are only about 30 minutes from BPG, plus I'm hoping to go and race that one myself.

This is our hot dog snatch game....

hondaracer31
02-23-2007, 06:17 AM
I used to schedule races at a local track and let me tell you, it's just about impossible to find dates when there are no races at any other track in the area. I think you're just going to have to pick dates when there are no BIG races. (nats., wpsa, gncc, etc.)

Pappy
02-23-2007, 07:00 AM
i say have a normal ride the weekend of april 7th/8th, for the early ride, have a big ride with all the trimmings on may 5th/6th.

any later in march places it to close to memorial day weekend which is huge.

Hey Pappy,

Maybe you can get Harlan to get in touch with some pro's and have them come out for the Ride. Then we can just let them pick the date. I'm sure everyone will change their plans to spend a day hangin' out and riding with some pro's.

I know everyone enjoyed riding and eating our Thanksgiving weekend dinner with GNC Pro racers Jason Dunkelburger and Dustin Wimmer.

................see if you can pull some strings !!!???

This is a cool berm shot of Wimmer and Dunk back in November.

Pappy
02-23-2007, 07:09 PM
I will see what I can do. they 5th and 6th of May could be a good draw, its after a WPSA and GNC with a break after those races so getting a few Pros there may not be an issue. And there is always the truck stop for Rich:devil:

I NEED A FOR SURE DATE???????

we have nothing in April except an indoor pitbike race on the 21st.

I LIKE THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 28TH. I was thinking Members could get $10 off of their Gate Fee's and we could offer members a free dinner on Saturday night.

How does everyone feel about wearing Name Tags for that weekend event. That way we could know who's a member and who's not.???? I could also just use a different color helmet band for members, but then you wouldn't know the peoples names.

LET ME KNOW - PAPPY OR HARLAN : you need to pick a date so we can work on getting some donations for door prizes form some bike shops.

April 28th & 29th is the Birch Creek GNC and would be a bad choice as many members from the mid atlantic region will be attending that race in Virginia.

I will talk to DUNK he lives right down the street from us. I will have my son text message him tonight. May 5th and 6th

There is also a District 7 race at Rocket Raceway on 4/29 which would probably hurt attendance as well. There are D6 races on 5/5 & 5/6 but no WPSA, no GNC & no GNCC races so it looks good to me too?
