Top end question

Hi guys


2001 400EX OK I ride it around my neighborhood and back into the garage,when I come back from the quick trip the top end is making alot of niose, tick tick tick tick, then after the oil catches up it quits ticking and quiets down.Can anyone help. the oil is freshly changed.

thanks for the input and i found the instrutions. Can you guys tell me why the oil gets up top when I first start it then when i come back from a little ride i hear the tick tick tick then it quiets down when the oil gets back up there, how is it going to help to ajust the valves. to stop the ticking.???????????????????

400EX motors always tick at idle. You'll never get it to go away completley. Making sure the valves are adjusted properly will minimize the ticking noise to some degree.
